Tires, round, black and made of rubber. They came with the car you are driving. That is pretty much all most of us know about tires until the day comes when one of them goes POP, BANG or thumpa thumpaclunka as it goes from being full of air to being flat. Do we need to know more about tires other than they come round, black and made of rubber?
Yes we need to know more. Not so that we can sit around on a bar stool spouting off rolling resistance factors, or tread designs that are best at heat dissipation, or grip ratios.
Did you know, (according to a study done at Popular Mechanics) that summer tires offer better traction on wet roads than an all season tire? No, eh! Well, this is your opportunity to come to a tire clinic to learn more about tires and wheels.
This Summer Tire Clinic is organized to help you make a better decision about using all seasons in the summer or if going to that fancy low profile tire will give you a smooth comfortable ride. What about wheels and tire sizes? Are big wheels (17", 18" or 20") better than 15" and 16" wheels ... what are the pros and cons? How about run-flats - they sound great ... are there any tradeoffs?
The North Atlantic Audi Club (NAAC) welcomes every car and driver to our Summer Tire Clinic hosted by Direct Tire, Natick MA. We are going to cover wheels, all season, summer and track specific tires. Who should attend? Anyone wanting to get better traction, save on gas money or have a better looking wheel. Come join us at Direct Tire's Natick location on April 14, Sunday at 9:30am. This is a FREE educational event, where you can eat donuts and learn about which rubber donuts may be best for your car.
