This event is a two-day High Performance Driving Event (HDPE). We will be sharing track time (in separate run sessions) with the Vintage Sports Car Club of America (VSCCA) – MAARC will have 1/2 of the allocated track time. Students (& Instructors) will receive three 25-minute driving sessions each day as well as classroom instruction between sessions. There will not be Time Trials at this event.
Students will be grouped into two groups:
Yellow: Intermediate (Previous completion of at least 2 HPDE events or approved
equivalent.)
Blue: Advanced
Note: In order for us to assign you to the most appropriate run group, it is absolutely essential that your past event history be up-to-date in your MotorsportReg.com (MSR) account. If you have participated in HPDE events where you did not use MSR to register, you must manually add this experience into your MSR data.
Instruction is included in your entry fee. All students will have an instructor with the exception of advanced students who whose driving experience is directly known to us and who receive advance approval to drive solo.
Instructors will be in the White group. Due to unusually high interest within the instructing community, the Instructor Group is now CLOSED for further registrations. If you're an experienced driving instructor and would like to instruct in next year's event, please send your instructor resume and two references to Steve Margolis.
Technical Inspection: All cars must have a pre-event technical inspection (Form in Word format). MAARC also accepts the Tarheel Sports Car Club / Triangle Z Club 2008 annual inspection sticker. All open cars (convertibles) must have an aftermarket roll bar meeting club specifications. Please be aware that factory roll hoops (Boxster, Z3/Z4, S2000, TT) are not acceptable.
Lodging is available at the track in the VIR Lodge & Garage Suites (434/822-7700, ext 101). We will not have a headquarters hotel for this event. Many of us will be staying at the Danville Sleep Inn, which can be reached at 434 793-6090. The Sleep Inn in is a new hotel that is relatively convenient to the track. Mention the Alfa Romeo Club to get the event rates. We've listed other options in
On-site registration will be held Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at VIR's North Paddock Driver's Classroom. We will also conduct registration on Saturday morning, but urge you to register on Friday night, if possible, in order to reduce the rush on Saturday morning.
This event will run RAIN or SHINE.
