Sunrise to Sunset Tour
October 30-31, 2015
This tour will begin just after sunrise in Chincoteague, Va and end after sunset on Skyline Dr. in the Shenandoah National Park. Along the way we will stop for breakfast, then eat lunch at Mitchie Tavern in Charlottesville, Va, then a drive along Skyline Dr. to watch the sunset.
Chincoteague is known for it's wild horses, bird migration and as one of the best beach towns in America.
We have secured a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn in Chincoteague. Call the hotel directly at 757-336-1616 and reference BMW National Capital Chapter. The hotel rate is $119/night. The rate is only available via calling the hotel directly
You do not have to depart on October 30th to attend this tour. You should know, Chincoteague is three hours from DC. Sunrise on October 31 is 0724hrs, with dawn beginning at 0658hrs and astronomical twilight at 0557hrs (important info for photographers).
If you are departing the DMV on the morning of Saturday the 31th, we will depart the Hampton Inn at 0545hrs.
If you are leaving on Friday the 30th, we will caravan from the IHOP in Bowie (15470 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715) at 0900hrs
On Saturday the 31st after watching/photographing the sunrise we will stop for breakfast on the Eastern Shore. From there we will continue to Mitchie Tavern in Charlottesville for a flavorful lunch. We will end at a designated overlook on Skyline Drive to watch the civil twilight to the sunset.
