SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AUDI CLUB CHUCKWALLA VALLEY RACEWAY HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING SCHOOL
Welcome to the registration for the SoCal Audi Club High Performance Driving School (HPDE) at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, CA.
What is it?
It's a chance to drive your car in a fun, safe, learning environment, on one of the newest tracks in the Southwest. It's a chance to learn more about yourself, your driving skills, and your car. It's a chance to meet and socialize with a diverse group of people who really enjoy our Audi brand of cars.
If it is your first or tenth time to an Audi driving event you will have a blast. Novice drivers will spend the morning of the first day in a classroom session and practice driving exercises to learn vehicle dynamics. The class and exercises are designed to enhance your car control skills and knowledge of your car.
During all driving exercises students drive their own cars and have club instructors to assist in developing better driving skills. This provides helpful input to ensure you get the most out of the experience, all while in a safe learning environment.
After the car control sessions the balance of the learning is on the track. Run groups are established to allow students to be on track with other drivers of similar experience. Novice students always have an instructor in the car during on track sessions. Passing is allowed only on designated sections of the course, and under controlled circumstances, making for as safe of an environment as possible. Time spent on the track without side streets provides a great opportunity to safely learn advanced driving techniques and explore the capabilities of both car and driver.
What's new for this event...
The track at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway is located about 50 miles from Indio, the location of our "headquarters" hotel. That's quite a stretch to have to drive at the end of a full day at the track, so we've made arrangements with Cardiff Transportation, the Coachella Valley's premier bus service operator, to have a motor coach available to ferry those who sign up for it. It will run to the hotel Saturday after the track shuts down, and back to the track again Sunday morning. Cold drinks will be available on board. The cost ($35) is an extra to your registration fee, but we hope you'll feel the savings on gas and the ability to relax as you head both from and to the track will make this a worthwhile expense. You'll find this option on the registration page. 56 seats are available...first come, first served.
