Quattrofest 2012

Portland Int'l Raceway

About this event

Audi Club Northwest logo

Audi Club Northwest is proud to welcome members to Portland International Raceway (PIR) on November 3-4 for Quattrofest 2012, sponsored by Sunset Audi!

Quattrofest has been our signature event at PIR for many years.  The track has two miles of asphalt for everyone to enjoy.  It features twelve turns that will include the famous "Festival Curves" for this event (http://tinyurl.com/PIR20101106).

Easy to learn but challenging to perfect, PIR has a storied history.  It has hosted many huge events including CART, IMSA, Trans Am, ALMS, NASCAR, and other national racing series. Tailor-made for driving schools like Quattrofest, the facility has enough room to simultaneously run lapping sessions and skills exercises. This physical arrangement also allows Quattrofest to hold an autocross, which will be available all day Saturday and/or all day Sunday.

Saturday.  The driving event starts with our Drivers Education (DE) program for novice drivers, and lapping or autocross for more advanced drivers.

Learning to be better drivers is what Audi Club Northwest is all about.  For some information about what our driving schools look like please go to <http://www.audiclubna.org/about-acna-topmenu-33/acna-driving-schools-topmenu-62> where you can also view a couple of videos.  This link gives you a good overview of how Audi Club North America driving schools are structured.  Drivers Education students will participate in the DE Autocross in the afternoon (no helmets are required for Saturday DE).  Both Lapping and the Full Autocross require helmets.

Garth Stein is joining us as guest speaker at our banquet Saturday evening to talk about his experiences and some of the backstory on his book The Art of Racing in the Rain.  Books will be available at the casual reception starting at 6:00pm at the Red Lion Hotel on the Columbia River.  The banquet follows at 7:00pm sharp.  Plan on a terrific dinner with wonderful friends, good food, and an entertaining experience for Audi enthusiasts.  The evening will continue with the now-famous Auction.

Sunday.  You go back to the track and continue with either lapping or autocross all day.

If you have questions about what to register for, send the event master or registrar a note and they can help you tailor this event to your needs.

We hope you will consider joining us for this very special Quattrofest!
