FSR members have been offered the opportunity to purchase copies of Randy Lefingwell's book: Porsche 911: Fifty Years.
The list price is $50 but the group buy deal is only $25 per book plus $5 shipping. To keep costs down, we'll purchase them in one shipment and distribute them at the January breakfasts and the New Year Party on 18 Jan, or you can pick yours up at Phil and Josie Grandfield's house in Va Beach if you want it by Christmas. We'll pass that info on after they arrive.
Payments will be processed here on MotorsportReg. Or, if you prefer, you can pay when you pickup your order. Checks should be made out to PCA - First Settlers Region.
In order to get them before Christmas, you must order here by December 15th. Orders at this special rate will close on that day.
About the Book
In Porsche 911: 50 Years, bestselling author Randy Leffingwell celebrates a half-century of one of the world’s premier sports cars, focusing on the major themes that have defined Porsche’s rear-engined wonder. He tells the whole story - design and development, racing and competition, engineering and technology, style and culture. But beyond telling the story of the cars, this book also spotlights the people behind them; Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche, the son of legendary Porsche founder Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche, who co-designed the instantly recognizable 911 shape; Peter Schutz, the Porsche CEO who saved the 911 from extinction; and Dr. Helmuth Bot, the engineering genius behind many of the ground-breaking technologies that have defined the 911, including fuel injection, turbocharging and all-wheel drive.
Just published on October 20, 2013 this 256 page, 300 photograph, 10 x 12 inch “coffee table” book is literally hot-off-the-presses.
