What: an SCCA course-following RoadRally™ based on the board game Monopoly.
When: Sunday, April 10, 2016
Start: Columbia, Ill., City Hall parking lot, 208 S. Rapp Ave. 62236. (You can access City Hall and the start from Main Street in Columbia.)
Registration: Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Drivers meeting: 12:45 p.m.
First car departs: 1:01 p.m.
What you need: A car, a driver and a navigator, a clipboard, pencils and paper, and an inclination to take an afternoon drive.
Entry fee: $20.00 (cash or check at registration the day of the rally).
Finish: Reifschneider’s Grill and Grape, 608 N. Main St., Columbia, Ill. 62236.
Other good things to know: Be prepared to enjoy a Sunday afternoon excursion of about 70 miles over the country roads of Monroe County, Ill. Arrive early and have breakfast at Aunt Maggie’s on Main, 230 North Main Street in Columbia. The restaurant is only a few blocks from City Hall and the start. Aunt Maggie’s specializes in American, German (of course), and Hungarian food, as well a baked goods. The Sunday morning breakfast buffet is highly recommended.
