Everyone is excited to be gathering again, reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones. And where better than the Mercedes-Benz Showcase at Shelton Winery in Dobson, NC. https://www.sheltonvineyards.com This event draws Mercedes-Benz treasures from Maryland to Alabama, representingseven states and nine sections.
There will be a Friday August 25 drive leaving the hotel at 10 AM that will take us up into the beautiful Yadkin Valley and return by mid afternoon. We will visit Mt. Airy, the model for The Andy Griffith Show's Mayberry, with a stopover for lunch.
For those arriving Friday there will be a group dinner gathering at Shelton's Harvest Grill. When you register your car, please indicate whether you will attend the dinner and how many in your party.
Please note that meal costs are not included in your $15 registration fee.
The main event will be the Saturday August 26 showcase of Mercedes on the Shelton Vineyards grounds from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Awards include the traditional Shelton Top 12, People's Choice Best of Show, and MBCA Silver Star Preservation judging for Mercedes over 25 years old. Those seeking Silver Star recognition should bring their COMPLETED Application Form to the event and provide to the judges.
This year Shelton Vineyards is providing Harvest Grill's indoor patio seating as well as several new dining options for show participants. For indoor patio seating, please make your reservations by calling 336-366-3590, and remind them that you are with the Mercedes Group on the Indoor Patio. Shelton has some exciting new food service options for our Mercedes Showcase and requests no outside food.
On Sunday August 27 from 9:00am-11:30pm Informal interactive opportunity to share information about your section events, exchange ideas with other section leaders, and to hear from national leadership regarding current MBCA strategic initiatives and priorities. Much is happening throughout the MBCA with a new executive director, a recently completed national strategic assessment, and significant emphasis on enhancing the member experience, streamlining efficiencies and increasing organizational agility. This session is open to all MBCA section leaders and prospective leaders. This is a great way to learn about MBCA goals and strategic plans, and to contribute to the national discussion.
The Hampton Inn at 150 Charlestowne Drive, Dobson, North Carolina will be our host hotel. A block of rooms at reduced rate has been arranged. You need to call the hotel direct to get this rate, ask for the Mercedes-Benz Club rate. Phone 336-353-9400.
PLEASE NOTE: The hotel is undergoing renovations, and therefore has fewer rooms to block. It will be important to make your reservations early.
