Come join us for a scavenger hunt in the central area of North Carolina. We will start at the Holly Hill Mall near the Starbucks Coffee in Burlington, NC at 9:30 am on March 8, 2014. Participants will be provided instructions at the start of the event and proceed to try to complete activities, grab specific photos, and complete challenges on their way to claiming the winning spot. The finish spot will be somewhere between Greensboro and Winston-Salem, inclusive. While details are still being worked out, it is anticipated the event should take approximately four hours to complete. If you are really behind schedule though, we will not leave the lights on for you.
This event will have a deadline for participants to reach the finish spot, with a penalty for late arrivals. However, participants will not be asked, nor should they, to break any laws in completing the event.
Participants may participate as a "solo", but at least one co-pilot/navigator/passenger is highly suggested.
Participants should bring the following:
- A camera - must be capable of transferring images to my computer (ie via an SD card)
- A clipboard
- A writing utensil
- GPS and smartphones will be allowed
- 2-way radio
- Some extra money - because you never know
* - note the organizer reserves the right to add additional items to this list
The entry fee for this event will be $15. This event is limited to the first 24 MINIs to register. One half of the proceeds will be donated to Patriot Rovers, Inc. The other half will serve as prizes as follows: 1st place - $90; 2nd place - $60; 3rd place - $30 (note the actual amount for each participant may be different - you'll understand once the event starts).
A final note - the organizer has never organized an event like this. Hopefully the "hunt" part will prove to be fun and provide you with lots of stories to amaze your non-MINI owning friends. If the "hunt" part falls flat though, you should still get to motor on some fun roads in the area.
