Come join the Michigan Turn Marshals, the Detroit Region SCCA, and SAE International for this unique annual event at the Michigan International Speedway. We are looking for Volunteers for the Dynamic Events Crew!

The Schedule:


  • Transport all equipment to MIS: 700+ cones, 45+ fire extinguishers, brooms and flags, oil dry, 4 set of timing lights, scales.
  • Review dynamic areas for safety and traffic flow
  • Setup scales, braking & sound test, and fuel.
  • The practice course needs to be set in place.
  • Eat, have spirits, and sleep.


  • Students start the competition, attending tech inspection, fuel, scales, brake area, noise, tilt and possibly the practice course
  • ~ 9AM -We set up the Endurance course, obtain SAE approval, and mark All Cones
  • Take Endurance course down.
  • Set up Autocross course, obtain approval and mark all cones. Must be complete by 2PM.
  • Students course walk from 2pm to 3:30pm.
  • Remove Autocross course and set up Acceleration and Skid Pad events for Friday.
  • Eat, have spirits, and sleep.


  • 8 AM-Set up Timing for Acceleration and Skid Pad. Events Begin 9AM
  • 12:30 PM-Dynamic areas close and Acceleration and skid pad are removed.
  • Set up Autocross for the afternoon. Event begins at approx. 1:30pm.
  • At completion of Autocross, remove course and setup endurance. Autocross timing scoring is finalized as well.
  • Eat, have spirits, and sleep.


  •  Endurance begins 9 am and runs until approx. 4pm.
  •  Pack up all equipment and go home.

- For Friday, we need 6+ experienced Soloist to be corner captains as well as an experienced solo starter, timing & course radio control.

- We also need general help with course setup, marking, and cleanup.

- Continental Breakfast, Lunch, and afternoon Refreshments will be provided.

- Free on-site camping is available for all volunteers.

- Detroit Region members will receive 3 worker points per day and a complimentary gas card.

-- Detroit Region members are invited to the free Saturday evening dinner.
