The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is an 11 day motor sport festival which benefits the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School. The largest event of its kind kicks off July 7, 2016 with the Historic Races at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex.
The BMW CCA joins the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Pirx to comprise the Historic Races at PIRC. The PVGP features cars from the 50's, 60's, and 70's; Allards, MG's Triumph's, Elva's, Cobra's, Camero's, Mustang's, Porsche's, Jaguar's and of course BMW's.
This year I am happy to announce the addition of a third day of racing. Thursday will now be test and tune and Friday through Sunday will be race days. For those of you that have never raced here, the new PIRC south track encompasses a challenging 85' elevation change followed by a blind hill and new straights before entering the existing and newly paved north track. The full course is 2.8 miles in length with a total of 18 corners. Track previews can be found on Youtube under PIRC.
BMW CCA Club Race participants receive a catered lunch for for one driver and one crew member on Saturday and Sunday, compliments of the Allegheny BMW CCA Chapter. Saturday night there is a volunteer/Drivers party trackside. There will be trophies provided for 1st place class finishes. When you register please email me with the driver and crew tee shirt sizes.
This year BMW will have it's OWN race group! The tentative schedule will be three sessions on Friday with one afternoon race. Saturday will include a morning race and feature a 55 minute race in the afternoon. Sunday will conclude with the final race of the weekend before the noon lunch break.
You must register to race on this website and also on the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix website. Please follow the instructions on the webpage as to where the entry fees are to be mailed.
Programs will be going to print June 1st. Register early so your entry will be listed. Please include your name, home town, car type, and car number.
