CASOC Hosts a Practice
Auto Club Speedway - Saturday, May 3, 2014
Walk-up entries will be accepted at this event. Onsite registration begins @ 7:00 am.
We're looking for a hundred or so folks to come out and join in the fun. We expect to get the usual 12 runs each, maybe more, though it's not guaranteed.
What to expect - For this event, we're going to try and keep work time to a minimum and fun time at a maximum. With daytime highs averaging 80 degrees, the weather should be perfect. The course will be fast and flowing. Expect a run about every 15 minutes. This is a work/run event.
There's going to be food - As proud supporter's of Cal Poly Pomona's PFM Team, we've enlisted their help and they'll be bringing out the BBQ to serve you. The BBQ will be open from 11:00 - 2:00 making it easy grab a bite without the need to wait in a long line. Please how your support for our intrepid car builders and future engineers at PFM.
Arrive and Drive - Need more time to tweek the car? Want more time to talk cars or go on ride alongs? Or are you thinking, hey, this is the weekend, I'm tired, who wants to work? We've got just the thing for you. For an additional fee you'll get priority access to the grid during and beyond your run group, and we'll cover your work assignment. Just arrive and drive. What could be easier. Select "Arrive and Drive" when checking out. But hurry....supply is extremely limited.
Hey.....don't forget your water - It will get hot out there. The night before, throw 5 or 6 bottles of water in the freezer. Kept in a small cooler, you'll have a supply of cold water all day just in case. But don't fret if you forget. PFM will have extra water and soft drinks for sale.
When you arrive - Come through the main gate on Cherry Avenue. Bear left after the guard shack and then turn left after the forced right turn. We are in the lot across from the go kart track. Be sure to observe the 25 speed limit while inside the facility. When you see the large lot laden with bright orange cones you know you’ve arrived. Be sure to sign the event waiver at the entrance to our area. Park your car in any open spot and come to registration for check-in. After registering, proceed to the tech area so your car and helmet can be approved. Be sure allow enough time for a course walk. That it's........you're ready to go.
No Overnight Camping - There is no overnight camping allowed on this site. However, personal belongings, including vehicles, may remain overnight. Everything must be removed by the time we leave on Sunday. Neither SCCA, Cal Club, CASOC, or Auto Club Speedway will be responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen property.
