Caravan from Salt Lake City to Monterey Parade

In conjunction with the Porsche Parade, Intermountain Region PCA is organizing a caravan to travel to the event. As an alternative to the one-day, dozen+ hour blast on Interstate highways, our caravan will offer a more tour-like, relaxed alternative over two days. We plan to stay on I-80 only to Wendover ,and from there will depart to state highways for most of the remainder of the trip.

 

Start Location:   Maverik Center Parking Lot, West Valley City Utah

Meet:                   7:30AM  Friday morning  June 13 for registration, waivers,  and driver's meeting. 

Depart:               8:30AM

The alphabetical points along the route, are stop points which have been targeted at approximately 2 hour intervals (some a little less) to allow for bio-breaks, food, fuel and driver changes. We'll try to keep the stops to 15-20 minutes, possibly longer if concensus is reached on a lunch location in Ely NV on day 1.

 

We plan to spend Friday night in South Lake Tahoe Nevada. We are in the process of locking in a rate at Harvey's resort (attached to Harrah's) with room rates of $139 for a lake facing 520 sq.ft. room, or a $119 rate for a mountain facing 300 sq. ft. room. We will lock in this contract as soon as we are clear of 10 cars commited to staying on the route with us on the night of the 13th. We will arrive in Monterey on Saturday June 14th prior to sunset. If you would like to join the caravan, we will ask that you sign up at Motorsportreg.com simply so that we can get a sense for the number of hotel rooms to block during our one night stay in Nevada. We'll block the rooms at the negotiated rate which we will soon communicate. We will then ask that you make your own reservation under a promo code that we will supply.
