It’s been a while since we’ve been to Pueblo, and now we’re coming back.  Always one of our favorites but saddled in recent years with management and maintenance issues, Pueblo Motorsports Park is back, and so are we.  The track is now in reliable and experienced hands after several years of being idle.  It’s conveniently located only about 30 minutes from Colorado Springs and about 90 minutes from Denver.  The track’s been resurfaced recently and is in great shape   Concerned about weather?  Well, mid-May in Southern Colorado is about as good a bet as you’ll find (probably won’t snow or have temps in the 90’s either).   Too expensive?  Let’s compare:  Autocross: $40, with five runs; total seat time: 8 minutes.  DE: $210, with two hours of seat time over two days. Which is the better deal?  If you’re new to DE, this track is an outstanding venue; we’ll have instructors teach you the basics, and you’ll be placed in run groups with your peers, so don’t worry about running with the big dogs.

Bottom line:  Great track that you haven’t run for a while (or ever), reasonable cost, lots of seat time, convenient location, and the odds are with us for good weather.  We’ll even help with your lunch cost.  In other words, no excuses for not coming out and joining us for a great weekend on May 18-19. 

But wait, there’s more.  The track’s new management, FAAST Motorsports, is offering a “Test ‘n Tune” Day on Friday, May 17, at a cost of $150 for a full day or $90 for a half day.   Pay at the gate.  Please note that ‘Test ‘n Tune’ is NOT affiliated with PCA or a part of the DE event.  You’ll also be able to do a trailer drop at the track on Friday afternoon. Saturday May 18th: 7:00 Track Opens (PMP and PCA waivers signed at gate) 7:00 - 8:00  Registration, 7:30 - 8:00 If checked in, Black group grids and top-techs, 8:00-8:30 Drivers meeting, 8:30 - 8:45 Black group continues to grid and top tech, 8:30  Corner workers out, 8:45 Black run group

Sunday May 19th: 7:00 Track Opens (PMP and PCA waivers signed and or checked at gate) 7:00 - 8:00  Registration, 7:30 - 8:00 If checked in, Black group grids and top-techs, 8:00-8:15 Drivers meeting, 8:15 Black group continues to grid and top tech, 8:15  Corner workers out, 8:30 Black run group

Cost:  Both days:  Driver: $210 (co-driver in same car: $170)

            One Day: Driver: $180 (co-driver in same car: $140)

(Registration fee includes $10 vouchers for food for each day   of driving)

 

Our host hotel for the weekend is the Wingate by Wyndham, 4711 N. Elizabeth Street, Pueblo, CO, 81008 (located just off I-25, Exit 102,  about 4 miles from the track).  The Wingate is offering a special discount rate ($83/room/night, plus tax) for DE attendees.  When reserving, just ask for the PCA No Excuses DE rate.  The hotel is holding a block of rooms for us until May 3, so reserve early at 719-586-9000.
