The Street will be closed to welcome your arrival for this historic Black Tie Optional event to kick off the New Year!
5 p.m. Walk the Red Carpet and have your photograph taken by a Professional photographer to a World Dancing Beat! Flanked by display cars by sponsor Carlsen Porsche, Ballet Folklorico, Drums of Passion and Bollywood Jai Ho Dancers will herald the New Year.
5-7 p.m. Enter the exquisite Historic Fox Theatre to the acclaimed Synchronicity String Quartet with a HOSTED Wine, Beer and Soft Drink Bar. Feast on delectable appetizers to include Swordfish Mini Kabobs with Oranges and Sumac, Stuffed English Cucumber Rolls, Seared Ahi Tuna on Wonton Crisp and Fresh Mozarella Cheese, Roma Tomato and Fresh Basil on mini Crostini. Keeping with the world theme, there will be assorted Pâtés and the Finest of Imported Cheeses from around the world with sliced Baguette and Season Fresh Fruit. President John Celona has created a signature cocktail for the event, the Turbo Carerra Martini.
7 p.m. The Awards Show and Inaugural Gala will feature the presentation of the 52nd annual GGR Awards honoring the outstanding club members. Entertainment will be provided by the award winning Foothill Repertory Dance Company directed and choreographed by Bay Area Theatre Critics, Drama-Logue, Dean Goodman winner Bubba Gong, who most recently choreographed the 2012 Emmys. “Dancing the World…Porsche” will highlight the world dance beat from a premiere of the Peking Opera, THE LAST EMPEROR to the latest dance craze GANGHAM style! Other highlights include the floor show: “Show me how to Burlesque” and excerpts from Broadway’s CHICAGO with proceeds benefiting Stanford’s Ronald McDonald House Charity.
