There is no better way to start your Solo season than in the warmth of the sun and the hospitality of the Dixie Region. Dixie Region is one of the smallest in the nation, yet they continue to kick off the Solo season with a top-notch event. This year’s event is being billed as “the road to Lincoln starts in Dixie” complete with a General Lee and a Boss Hogg. Event Chairman and past course designer Robert Lewis is passing design duties on to Solo legend John Thomas which promises a great course and an even better show when F-Prepared rolls to the start line. The long, narrow site typically yields courses in the mid-50 second range with fast, runway style transitions as a mainstay. Additional event help is coming from the Atlanta Region’s Grillin’ and Beverage Chilln’ team, delivering a classic southern cook-out for the Welcome Party. Can’t get enough of southern grub? Hit the Catfish House on Saturday night for the finest fried food, grits and all the fixin’s.

Bottom Line: No matter what you look for in an event, Dixie has it. The site is great, you can’t beat the hospitality and the weather is mild in early March. It is a pretty safe bet that you will have more fun at the Dixie Tour than you will sitting on the couch waiting for your local series to start up.
The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour Road to Lincoln takes National Solo on the road to various locations around the country. These events average over 275 drivers from a wide geographical area, with most of the competitors coming from nearby states. These drivers come together to get a taste of the "Nationals" experience of competition and camaraderie as these events are presented in a format similar to that found in Lincoln.
The competition at a National Tour takes place over two days on two separate courses, like Solo Nationals. The first day, competitors each get three runs or chances to drive one of the courses and on the second day they get three runs on the other course. Like any other Solo competition, runs are timed to 1/1000th of a second and knocking a cone down means a penalty of 2 seconds added to that time. The best times from each course are added together for the final class standings. All classes at National Tours are the same, standard Solo classes that you’ll find at Solo Nationals and as defined by the SCCA in the Solo Rulebook.
