Audi Club Northwest 2016 Board Election

Audi Club NA - Northwest Chapter

Aug 16, 2016 - Aug 28, 2016

Audi Club Northwest 2016 Board Election

The current terms of four Board of Trustee positions expire at the end of the QuattroFest event in November 2016. One of these is the appointed term from mid-year 2015 to fill a vacancy; if voted in Kent Burlingame will serve the next two years. Audi Club Northwest Bylaws require that all candidates for open positions stand for election by the membership prior to the end of August each year.

We have four declared candidates for these positions, and their Candidate Statements are presented for you to review (below) as part of the voting process. Please read each of them prior to voting.

While you are not required to vote yes (selected) or no for all the candidates, please make sure you do cast your votes by selecting the candidate(s) who you want to manage the club's business and to represent you for the next two years. You may select up to four names.

If you have any difficulty with this process please contact John Ewald (john.ewald@mac.com, 206-465-8370). Your membership information is being validated automatically by the system in the background. If some portion of that data has not been updated correctly or was delayed for some reason there is a chance that you will be restricted from completing the voting process. We want to fix any issues and ensure that everyone who wants to vote gets to vote if they are eligible. Contact John if you have ANY struggle with this electronic process. He can update membership expirations, email addresses, physical address, etc.

Your vote is completely private and secure. It is not possible for any Audi Club Northwest or Audi Club North America personnel to request or see any individual voting data. There are no names listed or reported with your vote. The results are independently certified by MotorsportReg/Pukka Software management and reported to the Audi Club Northwest Board.

Thank you for being a member and participating in Audi Club Northwest!

CANDIDATE STATEMENTS (below)
(alphabetized by last name; Vote for four total)

1. CHRIS BRICKEY (Member 40878)

Yes. I like to drive fast – just like most of you. That is why we spend days preparing our cars, getting up at dawn and possibly sitting for hours in rush hour traffic just to spend the weekend driving with club members. I wake up with anticipation and excitement to see my ACNW family. In the last two years I have taken over the role of Registrar from John Ewald. This new role has allowed me to get to know a lot of you on a more personal level and work closely to make sure you are all set to participate in our events. I added two events to our calendar this year; The Woman’s Day at The Ridge and Belohnung at Oregon Raceway Park. Both of these events are very dear to me. A women’s only event allows us ladies to develop at our own speed and share in the comradery that naturally develops. Belohnung means “Reward” and this is one way for the club to give back to all our instructors and volunteers that donate their time and passion to continue managing and developing our club. We are family.

I recently purchased a new track car. This has forced me to step back and take what I know and use it to develop those skills in a new and fresh way, pushing myself to let go of the muscle memory I had from driving a M3 for over 5 years. This is how I feel with running for my 3rd term on the board. I will take what I have learned in the last 4 years and use it to assist developing our club to the next level as we continue to offer what our members are most passionate about.

Thank you for your confidence in me, and your vote!
Cris Brickey

2. KENT BURLINGAME (Member 48592)

In the past 6 months as an interim member of the board, I've learned a lot about the "behind the scenes" workings of everything that helps our Audi Club chapter continue to operate. As mentioned at many a track event, there are so many different moving pieces that involved to help events run smoothly.

I am a fervent believer in the idea behind getting out of something what you put into something; be it work, a club, a fraternity, school, what have you. The more of yourself and effort you put into the club, the more you are able to shape it and make it better for others in the club as well. I have held onto this mantra through most of my rather short life, and have found it to be rewarding, if not at times exhausting. In my hope to continue on with this, I would appreciate the opportunity to serve again on the board and help make that impact to create a better club for all of us.

Thank you.
Kent Burlingame

3. DAN GARBER (Member 48601)

My hope in receiving your vote is to continue to bring my Motoring passion to the club.

I’ve had the privilege of serving as the ACNW President this last year and getting even more involved with this club. Meeting everyone at events has been fun, and animated at times. Learning the hidden strengths in the people of this club has been rewarding.

I’m back on the ticket asking for your vote to keep me around for another two years. We have done a lot these last two years and there is still more to get done, like Social Tours, Dealer Engagement and more fun Club activities along with keeping the same look and feel that made QuattroClub and now Audi Club Northwest what it has become.

Thank you for your vote.
Dan Garber

4. SCOTT HAYNES (member 41530)

I am a lifelong lover of cars and racing. I have been involved in some sort of motorsport all of my adult life. Autocrossing, time trials and road racing (both karts and cars) are just a few of the racing activities I have been involved in. Besides going fast, I really enjoy being around cars and car people. I like to spend my spare time building and repairing cars or just hanging out and talking to people about them. As an instructor, I enjoy helping others learn how to safely drive their cars at the edge of their performance or to just drive safely on the road.

I have been involved with many automotive groups in a variety of positions. My involvement has included being a member of various groups, a board member of others, as high as President and Race Director for one of the local kart racing organizations. The only way I have found to enjoy automotive activities more than I already do has been to help other people enjoy it as much as I do.

I am hoping that I can continue to share my love of racing and my automotive experience as a member of the board of ACNW.

Thank you for your consideration.
Scott Haynes
