Audi Club Northwest 2015 Board Election

Audi Club NA - Northwest Chapter

Aug 11, 2015 - Aug 23, 2015

The current terms of two Board of Trustee positions expire at the end of the QuattroFest event in November 2015. Audi Club Northwest Bylaws require that candidates for open positions stand for election by the membership prior to the end of August each year.

We have two declared candidates for two positions, and their Candidate Statements are presented for you to review (below) as part of the voting process. Please read each of them prior to voting.

While you are not required to vote yes or no for all candidates, please make sure you do cast your votes by selecting the candidate(s) who you want to manage the club's business and to represent you for the next two years. You may select up to two names.

If you have any difficulty with this process please contact John Ewald (john.ewald@mac.com, 206-465-8370). Your membership information is being validated automatically by the system in the background. If some portion of that data has not been updated correctly or was delayed for some reason there is a chance that you will be restricted from completing the voting process. We want to fix any issues and ensure that everyone who wants to vote gets to vote if they are eligible. Contact John if you have ANY struggle with this electronic process. He can update membership expirations, email addresses, physical address, etc.

Your vote is completely private and secure. It is not possible for any Audi Club Northwest or Audi Club North America personnel to request or see any voting data. There are no names listed or reported with your vote. The results are independently certified by MotorsportReg/Pukka Software management and reported to the Audi Club Northwest Board.

Thank you for being a member and participating in Audi Club Northwest!

CANDIDATE STATEMENTS (below)
(alphabetized by last name; Vote for two total)

1. YVONNE HILDEBRANDT (Member 49874)

What you drive says a lot about who you are. I’m now driving a wonderful Audi A7 (my 5th Audi vehicle) and it’s still as exciting to get into this car as it was that time I got into my very first Audi A3 15 years ago. My life revolves around my passions, so what better way to truly embrace my love for Audi than to run for a seat on the Board of Trustees at the Audi Club.

As a board member, there are many things I would like to get involved in, but I am particularly interested in growing a more diverse community of Audi drivers in the club. Many people are passionate about their car(s), but somehow have a barrier to joining a car club – I want to figure out why and define what tactics we as a club have to consider to appeal to a broader audience (can you tell I’m a marketer by day?).

Thanks for your vote!

Yvonne Hildebrandt (Reichardt)

2. DAVID KELLEY (Member 33919)

Eight years ago my wife, Charlene, purchased an Audi Club membership for my birthday. My new 2007 Audi RS 4 had just arrived and while it wasn’t my first Audi, it was my first high-performance vehicle. When I opened my present I thought “cool", but I had no idea what this membership card was going to mean to me.

In short, the gift of an Audi Club membership has been nothing short of life altering. I had never been to a car control clinic before (now called Driver Skills), not to mention an HPDE day, but that all changed very quickly. I immersed myself in this new sport of high-performance driving… both feet in!

After about 18 months of attending events, and much to my surprise, I was asked to come to an Instructor Clinic. That experience helped me realize that not only did I have a passion for driving, but for coaching as well. I saw that the Audi Club was a great community for improving adult and teen driving skills, both on and off the track. I wanted to contribute more. Having Charlene and my two sons, Devin and Derek, starting to participate in high-performance driving only fueled my desire to keep these programs moving forward for others to learn and enjoy.

Right about that time, about 6 years ago, I asked how I could help. John Ewald suggested that I could contribute by helping the registrar and event master with group and instructor assignments. Pat Martin, Derek Sanderson and John showed me the ropes and I’ve been involved ever since. This led me to attending board meetings on occasion, particularly when driving events were being discussed. I got involved even more when it came to putting on the events, offering my opinions on schedule format, how Driver Skills exercises should be run, how to improve safety, and many other event and club management subjects.

It turns out that I've volunteered over 500 hours to the club since 2009 (I keep track since Microsoft donates $17 to the club for each hour I volunteer). So... as you can see, I'm already pretty involved in the Audi Club. Now it’s time to add some throttle and kick it up into a higher gear.

I’d like your vote to join the Audi Club Northwest Board of Trustees and serve you by continuing to improve our programs and events. You’ll be giving me a stronger voice on the Board to express and implement new ideas.

Thank you for your vote!

Dave Kelley
