How to Enable Cookies

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer can be stubborn about making these changes. In some cases you may need to close all open windows of your browser and in extreme cases reboot your computer.

  • Version 7.x, 8.x
    1. Restore Default Settings
      • Click Tools on the command menu at the top of your browser and select Internet Options
      • Click the Security tab at the top of the window
      • Select either Medium or Medium-High for your security setting
      • Click the Privacy tab at the top of the window
      • Select the Medium privacy setting
      • Apply the changes and try logging in again; if it fails, continue below:
    2. Set Specific Cookie Behaviors
      • Click Tools on the command menu at the top of your browser and select Internet Options
      • Click the Privacy tab at the top of the screen
      • Click the Advanced button, which brings up a pop-up window
      • Click the "Override automatic cookie handling" box
      • Select "Accept" for First-party cookies, and "Block" for Third-party cookies
      • We generally recommend leaving the "always allow session cookies" unchecked in order to disable tracking cookies from advertising companies
      • Apply the changes and try logging in again; if it fails, continue below:
    3. If all else fails, make Microsoft say "Uncle"
      • Click Tools on the command menu at the top of your browser and select Internet Options
      • Click the Privacy tab at the top of the screen
      • Click the "Sites" button, which brings up a pop-up window
      • Add "www.motorsportreg.com" to the list of Allowed sites
  • Version 6.x
    • Click Tools on the menu at the top of your browser and select Internet Options
    • Click the Privacy tab at the top of the screen
    • Move the slider to Medium and click OK
  • Version 5.x
    • Click Tools on the menu at the top of your browser and select Internet Options
    • Click the Security tab at the top of the screen
    • Click Custom Level and scroll down to the Cookies section
    • Set "Allow per-session cookies" to Enable and click OK
  • Version 4.x
    • Click View on the menu at the top of your browser and select Internet Options
    • Click the Security tab at the top of the screen
    • Click Custom Level and scroll down to the Cookies section
    • Select "Always accept cookies" or "Prompt before accepting cookies" and click OK

Firefox

  • Version 2.x, 3.x
    • Click Tools on the menu at the top of your browser and select "Options..."
    • Select "Privacy" icon in the menu on the top.
    • Under "Cookies", check box next to "Accept cookies from sites".
  • Version 1.x
    • Click Tools on the menu at the top of your browser and select "Options..."
    • Select "Privacy" in the menu on the left.
    • Select "Cookies" in the list on the right. If there is a [+] next to it, click to expand it.
    • Select "Allow sites to set cookies". You may optionally select "for the originating web site only" to limit the types of cookies that can be saved.

Netscape Navigator

  • Version 6.x
    • Click Edit on the menu at the top of your browser and select Preferences
    • Find "Privacy & Security" in the menu on the left. If there is a triangle pointing to the right next to Privacy & Security, click it.
    • Select "Cookies" under "Privacy & Security"
    • Select "Enable cookies for the originating web site only" or "Enable all cookies" and click "OK"
  • Version 4.x
    • Click Edit on the menu at the top of your browser and select Preferences
    • Select "Advanced"
    • Select "Accept all cookies" or "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server" and click OK

Mozilla

  • Version 1.x
    • Click Edit on the menu at the top of your browser and select Preferences
    • Find "Privacy & Security" in the menu on the left. If there is a [+] to the left of "Privacy & Security", click it.
    • Select "Cookies" under Advanced.
    • Select "Enable cookies for the originating web site only" or "Enable all cookies" and click "OK"
