If you signed up for the Aftershock Tour Rally (October 24th), or if you just want to learn about Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rallies and the Richta smart phone app that we will be using for timing of the rally, then we invite you to a short Rally School. Content covers TSD Tour rallies and is geared for novices, though it may also include concepts of interest to the more experienced rallyist. John Poulos, event Chairman, will be your instructor, assisted by Liz Witt, Rallymaster for the Aftershock Tour Rally. When you register, we will send information on how to download the app and also directions for a very short course in Richardson where you can go see how it works.

Rally School Day is Saturday October 9th. The “classroom” instruction will be conducted via Zoom session. An invite for the Zoom session will be sent out ahead of the School (see above). Class begins at 10:00 am and should run for about an hour and a half, including time for Q&A.

Following the instruction session, you’re free to run the approximately 1-mile test course over paved roads in Richardson, Texas; start and finish locations will be specified in the route instructions. You may complete this test run any day or time at your convenience, though we recommend doing so the same day of the School, after attending the Zoom orientation session, or at least several days in advance of the Rally. Any street-legal, four-wheel vehicle may enter. At least two people (a driver and a navigator) are required in each car. This is not a speed event.

Follow-up questions after the event should be directed to rally@texasscca.org . We will compile them and post and/or distribute answers to all entrants. For those who aren't able to attend the Rally School on Saturday, or who later want to revisit some of the material, we plan to record the Zoom session and post it as well and will share information on how to access it after the Rally School so you can watch the recorded Zoom session at your convenience.

Note: if you plan to register for the Aftershock Tour Rally, we strongly urge you to do so early and in time to also attend this Rally School and/or view the recorded session.
