John's July Journey

Come join us for an enjoyable day of driving, a car show, a picnic lunch and shopping in Mineral Point, Wis., an architectural gem in the hills of southwest Wisconsin.

The driving: a 2.5-hour, 110-mile route laid out by John Sutton (hence, the name) on enjoyable back roads in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, ending in Mineral Point.
The car show: featuring vintage, antique and other interesting vehicles. We will arrive in time for the start of the show and have made arrangements for show car parking. If you're not entered in the show, you will need to part in the street.
The picnic lunch: in Soldiers Memorial Park; bring your own or purchase at concession stands and beer tent.
The shopping: historic buildings, working artists, locally owned boutiques and restaurants. These are just part of what makes Mineral Point a special place.

The journey will begin at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant, 730 N. Lyford Road (I-90 and State Street), Rockford, Ill. When you arrive, the restaurant will be open if you would like to have an early breakfast.

Entry Fee: $10 per car/ 2 people (non-members $15)

Car Show: If you wish to enter your car, the fee is $10. You must enter by July 10. Open to all makes, models and years.

Tour Schedule: Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. Drivers' meeting at 8:45. Tour begins at 9:00 a.m.
