Basic Event Guidelines and Safety

  1. A valid drivers license is required in order to participate, please bring drivers license with you to registration.  Temporary permits are allowed if parent/guardian remains present while driving.
  2. Your car must have a passenger seat equipped with seat belts for an instructor.
  3. Please note that our insurance doesn't allow tippy vehicles like SUVs. Please consult the SCCA Solo Rulebook section 3.1 and the beginning of Appendix A.
  4. All vehicles must pass safety inspection on the following points prior to running: working seat belts, throttle return action, secure battery, no oil or antifreeze leaks, adequate brake pedal, tire condition, tie-rods, and wheel bearings.
  5. All loose items, snap-on hubcaps, detachable fender skirts, speaker boxes, center caps, and trim rings must be removed.
  6. Closed toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops) while driving.
  7. Helmets are required (Snell M2005/SA2005 or newer) with limited loaners available free of charge in exchange of a valid ID.  Borrowing your buddies newer motorcycle helmet should be fine. Just check the sticker inside, any of these decals indicate a legal helmet. Inexpensive open faced helmets can be found at local motorcycle shops or online at places like Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies.
  8. Speeding, reckless driving, etc on the adjacent and surrounding roads and/or parking lots of the event site are prohibited.
  9. Persons deemed to be speeding and/or driving recklessly in the surrounding area will result in having all runs for the day DSQ'd. At the Solo Chairman's discretion you may be banned from some or all future events.
  10. All vehicles must meet our sound limit, which is 100db @ 50 feet.
    1. For reasonable first offenses, you will be asked to fix sound issue for the next event.
    2. Unreasonably loud vehicle will not be able to participate until the sound level is reduced.
  11. All adults present in the event site (whether they are participating or not) will need to sign the waiver when they arrive on site.
  12. All minors must have a signed waiver.  If there are 2 parents/legal guardians they both need to sign the waiver, either while being witnessed by registration (this Waiver available onsite) or have a notary sign it saying they witnessed the signature (Notary Form, must be printed in color).  If a parent/legal guardian has sole custody, the Affidavit of Sole Custody must accompany the minor waiver. One parent/legal guardian must be onsite for the entire event.  If on a learner's permit, the parent can either ride along with the student or give written permission to have an instructor ride with them instead.
