If you're new to NCC HPDEs or if you have not been to one of our schools since 2012 (no HPDEs driven in 2013 or 2014), you are considered a New Student and will receive a $25 instant discount for each day you drive with us in 2015.  The discount will be applied when you register but you should email the registrar to be certain.

>Current Students - Bring a friend and get a $25 rebate toward your next school!

If you are a Current Student (you have driven in at least one of our schools within the past two years) AND you bring a friend to any of our 2015 schools, you can receive $25 or more off your next 2015 school.

The Fine Print for the Referral rebate:

  • You will receive a $25 rebate off your NEXT school admission for each day your friend(s) drive(s) in the current year.
  • This rebate applies to the NEXT school, of the current year, in which you drive.
  • Only Current drivers can receive a referral rebate.  New drivers will receive the New Driver discount, but will not get BOTH a New Driver and a Referral discount.
  • If you bring a friend to the last HPDE of the year, you will receive the rebate at the first NCC HPDE of the following year.
  • Maximun rebate allowed is the total cost of your next school.  Bring more friends - get a bigger rebate!
  • If your friends sign up but do not pay and attend, you will not receive any rebate.
  • Rebates have no other cash value and do not carry past the next school you attend in the current year or the first NCC HPDE in the following year.
  • Rebates will expire and have no further value if not used as stated above.

  • Bring one friend that drives one day, you get $25 off your next HPDE admission, current year.
  • Bring one friend that drives two days, you get $50 off your next HPDE admission, current year.
  • Bring two friends that each drive one day, you get $50 off your next HPDE admission, current year.
  • Bring four friends that drive six combined days, you get $150 off your next HPDE admission, current year.
  • Bring ten friends that each drive two days and you will drive FREE at your next HPDE of the current year!

And so on...

Admissions Policy

Due to strong demand for space in National Capital Chapter (NCC) HPDEs, we are sometimes unable to accommodate all the students who apply.  For HPDEs where applications exceed our school capacity, we will admit students as outlined below.

Priority Assignment

Students will be admitted in order of application date from among the following groups until capacity has been reached.  Within each group, applicants for both days of an HPDE will be admitted first, and then, if spaces remain, single-day applicants will be admitted.  Ties within groups will be broken by random drawings.  Priority order is:

  1. National Capital Chapter member;
  2. Member of other BMW CCA chapters.

HINT: Any BMW CCA member can become a member of the National Capital Chapter. Simply call the BMW CCA National Office at 800.878.9292 and ask to add the NCC to your existing membership. We verify the membership status of 100% of all applicants to our HPDEs.

To expand the ranks of qualified instructors as quickly as possible and thus increase the number of students that can be admitted to future events, applicants who qualify for the NCC instructor training program (Instructor Academy or IA) or who lack a single IA qualification will be given highest admission priority.  Qualification for IA is based on performance in earlier HPDEs.  Detailed information on IA can be obtained from the chapter’s website at

Unsuccessful applicants will be waitlisted.  If spaces become available prior to the Freeze Date, applicants will be admitted from the waitlist in the order described above.  Applicants who are waitlisted but not eventually admitted will not have their fees charged. Waitlisted applications will not be “rolled over” to later HPDEs.

“NCC member” priority will be given to applicants whose primary or secondary chapter affiliations include the NCC and to applicants with pending NCC membership applications.  The number of novice students admitted will be limited to one-third of the total school enrollment.  Applicants should check their entry status at:  Every effort will be made to inform applicants of their admission status by email three weeks before the event.

  • Applications must be submitted using the online registration form on  At a minimum, completely fill out your Name, Address, Email, Phone, complete Club/Chapter membership information, Garage and Driving Experience in your account page.  Incomplete account information will slow down the registration process.  The National Capital Chapter will not use any medical information entered into for our HPDEs.  On-line (credit card or account debit) payment through within the registration period is required to complete your registration and prioritize your application.  Each individual applicant must submit a separate application using a unique username and email address.  Admission priority will be determined by your on-line payment date.

  • Drivers must be 18 years of age or older and have full, valid driver’s licenses.  Familiarity with the car is essential and car sharing is strongly discouraged.  For two-day HPDEs, first-time and inexperienced students may register for Saturday-only, or for both Saturday and Sunday, but not for Sunday-only. The Chief Instructor has the sole and final determination as to which students are eligible for Sunday-only admittance. This ia a safety issue and non-negotiable.

  • Cars must be insured, street-legal, quiet and must have passenger seats.  Functional, securely attached lap and shoulder belts are required for both front seats.  The front seats must have equal restraint systems in place and operational (e.g., if the driver has a five-point harness, the passenger must have a five-point harness as well.)  Performance-enhancing modifications and R-compound (racing) tires inhibit learning and are strongly discouraged.  If roll bars or cages are installed, they must be fully padded above the level of the front door window sills.

  • Convertibles, SAVs, SUVs, retractable hardtops, T-tops, trucks, vans, motorcycles and rental cars are not allowed.

  • Cars must be inspected by a qualified service facility before the event.  A properly completed tech inspection form (supplied) must be presented at the track.  It is your responsibility to ensure that your car is safe and roadworthy.

  • ATTENTION BMW E36 CAR OWNERS:  The original radiator must have been replaced in ANY E36 BMW that drives in our schools.  This is a safety issue and not negotiable.  Download and read the Tech Inspection form on the NCC website ( for the rules concerning you car.  It is your responsibility to understand these rules prior to registration.  If you wait too late and cannot meet the radiator requirement before the school, you run the risk of forfeiting part or all of your registration fee based on the Refund Policy noted below.

  • Helmets ---Note these requirements for 2015 --- Must be certified to Snell M- or SA-standards, 2005 or later.  Full-face helmets with SA-2005 or later certifications are strongly recommended.  The Snell Memorial Foundation’s certification will be found on a sticker inside the helmet.  The National Capital Chapter does not supply helmets.

  • Prior approval is required for students intending to share cars and for changes in car type after registration.

Refund policy

Student and instructor schedules are finalized and sent to the printer approximately fifteen days prior to the event.  Our HPDE costs are fixed and based on financial obligations we enter into once you register and we accept you into the event. Tuition is priced as low as possible based upon your acceptance and attendance.

If you cancel your registration two weeks before the Friday of the relative event, you'll not be charged for your registration. If you cancel your registration between 14 and 7 days before the relative event, you'll receive a 50% refund of you payment minus NCC incurred registration fees which are approximately 3.5%. If you cancel your registration within 7 days of the relative event, also known as the 'Freeze' date, you'll receive no refund.

Registrations canceled after 5pm on the Freeze Date, will receive no refund. NCC-incurred registration fees are the responsibility of the registrant/student regardless of the reason for the cancellation.  Cancellation is the responsibility of the registrant and can be executed through MSReg. Notification to the Registrar may be made by email to or by phone at 410.746.6226.

If you fail to attend the HPDE without notifying the Registrar prior to 5:00 p.m. the Friday before the event, you will forfeit your entire tuition for that weekend.

If you damage your car or your car breaks for any reason and you cannot drive or continue in the school, there will be no refund provided for the remainder of the event that is missed. For example, if you run off the track and break your suspension or if your radiator breaks on Saturday morning at 9:00am and you cannot run any more laps that weekend, you will not be reimbursed for any of your event fees for that event.

The National Capital Chapter reserves the right to decline entry to any individual and to any vehicle deemed unsafe or unsuitable for track use.

There will be no exceptions made to these cancellation and refund rules. They have been developed over many years of experience operating NCC driving schools. Please do not ask us to make an exception to your 'unique' situation. Thank you for helping us run a safe and financially successful HPDE program.
