Event Requirements

Registration closed April 15, 2017 11:59 PM at 2017-04-15T23:59:00-0700 Registration ends April 15, 2017 11:59 PM at 2017-04-15T23:59:00-0700 Registration opens February 13, 2017 12:00 AM at 2017-02-13T00:00:00-0800 Registration runs from February 13, 2017 12:00 AM to April 15, 2017 11:59 PM

  • All Drivers and Passengers must be 18+
  • SA2010 or greater helmet highly recommended but not required
  • Tow hooks or tow points are required on the front and rear of car.  If your car has a mechanical malfunction and must be towed, OnGrid will be forced to find a way to tow your car off the track. OnGrid and Thunderhill are not liable for any damages sustained while your car is being towed.  Please make sure you have tow hooks, straps or points that you can easily point out to the tow truck driver.  Please make sure you have this prior to entering the track.
  • Inside the car you should insure there are no loose objects that may fly around.
  • Vehicles may not enter the track if they are leaking any fluids.
  • Numbers are required on both sides of the car and must be 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide or bigger. 
  • Convertibles are required to have roll over protection.  A vehicle with factory pop-up roll over protection is allowed to enter the track surface.   Drivers and passengers with convertibles must pass the broom stick test.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us: ongridtrack@gmail.com

     

 How To Preform Broomstick Test:

  • Put helmet on and get in the car
  • Place one end of the broom/stick on the top of the windshield and the other end on top of the roll hoop/bar, behind your head
  • The broom/stick must not touch your helmet nor your head, in order to pass the test and to be allowed on track

GROUP 1 (Beginner)

  1. This run group is generally intended for drivers with little to no previous track experience.  Generally 3 or less days.  This group is built for driving with the less amount of track experience or drivers who are still becoming comfortable and familiar with High Performance Driving Events.
  2. This group will allow driver to focuses on furthering their comfort during High Performance Driving Events along with allowing each participant to become familiar with the correct racing line without being pressured.
  3. Point By Passing is Mandatory and only allowed on the straights.  No Passing In Corners Allowed.
  4. Personal instructors are available to assist individuals in this run group.  Please Take a Look At Our Available Packages During Registration or email us at ongridtrack@gmail.com if you have any questions with personal instruction.

GROUP 2a (Low Intermediate)

  1. Group 2a is similar to Group 1 however it is build for drivers with more experience and awareness then in Group 1. 
  2. This Group is interned for drivers for a medium level of track experience (Generally 4-7days)
  3. This Group is intended for drivers with a good understanding of track awareness and etiquette.
  4. Point-by passing is Mandatory and allowed anywhere on track.
  5. Personal instructors are available to assist individuals in this run group.  Please Take a Look At Our Available Packages During Registration or email us at ongridtrack@gmail.com if you have any questions with personal instruction.

GROUP 2b (High Intermediate)

  1. Group 2b is similar to Group 2a however it is built for drivers with more experience and awareness than group 2a. 
  2. This Group is intended for drivers with a good understanding of track awareness and etiquette.
  3. This Group is interned for drivers for a medium level of track experience (Generally 8-10days)
  4. Opening passing is allowed on all straights however point-by passing is required in any corner.
  5. Personal instructors are available to assist individuals in this run group.  Please Take a Look At Our Available Packages During Registration or email us at ongridtrack@gmail.com if you have any questions with personal instruction.

GROUP 3 (SLOW ADVANCE)

  1. Group 3 is built for drivers with a greater amount of track experience and understanding of driving on race tracks (Generally 11+ days).
  2. Group 3 and Group 4 have the same rules and regulations, but group 3 is built for drivers who run slower lap times.
  3. This group allows opens passing anywhere by everyone on the track. Point-by passing is greatly appreciated, but not required. 
  4. This run group is based around lap times and track experience 
  5. Generally 1:32 or faster laps at Thunderhill West

GROUP 4 (FAST ADVANCE)

  1. Group 4 is our fastest run group (Generally 15+ days)
  2. Group 4 is built for the fastest cars and drivers at any driving event OnGrid hosts.
  3. This group allows opens passing anywhere by everyone on the track. Point-by passing is greatly appreciated, but not required. 
  4. This run group is based around lap times and track experience 
  5. Generally 1:28 or faster laps at Thunderhill West

OnGrid reserves the right to change you from the group you originally registered for, into another group, if we do not feel you meet the criteria for your registered run group.  Please Make Sure You Register For The Appropriate Run Group.

These are generally our run groups, however sometimes we modify and add a School Group or any extra groups if needed to accommodated drivers and keep the car count in groups low.
