2013 STL Solo Points Event #11

Event Requirements

Registration closed October 4, 2013 11:59 PM at 2013-10-04T21:59:00-0700 Registration ends October 4, 2013 11:59 PM at 2013-10-04T21:59:00-0700 Registration opens May 7, 2013 12:00 AM at 2013-05-06T22:00:00-0700 Registration runs from May 7, 2013 12:00 AM to October 4, 2013 11:59 PM

Events 1 and 3 will be Run using a Split - Four Heat Format
The field is divided into two grids with a line on each side, each angled toward the start line.  There are four run/work Heats.  Vehicles are assigned to run in either the first or second half of each Heat.  The plan is for each driver to run during two of the heats and work one of them.  If you run Heats 1 and 3, you would work either 2 or 4 and vice versa.  Two driver vehicles line up on either side at the front of the grid.  When the runs start, all of the two driver cars go out (either driver) and then cars from one side of the grid go out.  For the second run, that sequences is repeated (i.e., the same vehicles run again).  Two driver vehicles can change drivers if they wish.  It’s up to that team what order they run in.  After three runs, the two driver vehicles go out again, followed by the other side of the grid (for their first runs).  That sequence is repeated until that side gets three runs.  It’s important to note that two driver vehicles don’t go out more often than any other vehicle, so no advantage/disadvantage to warmer tires than single driver vehicles.  After each side has three runs each, the Heat is over.
Worker changeover takes place before the start of the second Heat.  The second Heat is run in the same manner as the first.  At the conclusion of the second Heat, worker changeover takes place before the start of the third Heat.  The third Heat is comprised of the same group of drivers/vehicle as the first Heat.  So, if the course was dirty or damp for the first heat, the driver gets another chance.  Normally there are three runs in the third Heat, but if there have been excessive delays during the running of the first Heat, event organizers can declare only two runs for Heats three and four.  Worker changeover takes place for the beginning of the fourth heat for another three (or two) runs each.
Ladies class vehicles will be assigned to the opposite set of Heats of the open class.  This has the disadvantage of the possibility of the open class driver working, while the Ladies class driver(s) is running, but it is important they run against others in their class.
If we get a low turnout for these events (fewer than 100-110), we may ask for volunteers to work twice.  As said, this will be on a volunteer basis.  No one will be “required” to work twice.
Run for National Class will not be available for the remainder of the season.  Be advised if you have credits available to you on MotorSportsReg.com, you need to use them before the last event of the year.  After that date they will no longer be available.  The credits cannot be used for Events that are the National Tour events, example Blytheville, Arkansas.
The Run/Work Order for Events 1 & 3 can be found at:
http://www.stlsolo.org/runWorkOrder
This Run/Work Order is for Heat assignment.  Each Heat will be split into an assigned half on the day of the events.

SUPPLEMENTAL EVENT RULES:
Please refer to www.scca.com and www.stlsolo.org for complete supplemental rules. Thank You.

  • 8.4 Car Numbers:
    • Numbers 21 through 999 are allowed. Car numbers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis in each class. If desired, drivers of the same car but in different classes (open and ladies) may use the same car number. If a second driver enters later he/she must inform the registrar of the additional driver to ensure correct number assignment. No zeroes can be used as the first number on a car (e.g. 06, 006, 016).
    • Each driver of a two-driver car may run any available number. To easily allow for multiple co-drivers during the season, the numbers 101-199 are only available as an option to the second driver of a two-driver car. If this option is chosen, the second driver must use the same number as the first driver plus 100 (e.g. 8 and 108, 66 and 166). These numbers cannot be made any driver's permanent number.
    • Numbers 1-20 are reserved for the previous season's Top 20 Index Drivers.

  • All competitors MUST be in line for Registration by 8:15 AM. We need for the event to run on time to enable all competitors to receive the most amount of runs.
    • It is STRONGLY recommended that drivers, whom have not run with Saint Louis Region SCCA, be in line PROMPTLY at 7:30!  If you do not have a valid SCCA Membership Card or valid Weekend Membership Form and able to display it, you must first go to the Welcome Tent!
  • If you did not pre-register for the event you must start at the Welcome Tent

  • All competitors must be able to display a valid driver’s license.

  • Everyone must sign Waiver forms. Minors must have a Minor Waiver form signed by both parents.  Any parent not in attendance must have their signature notarized.

  • The event will be conducted according to the 2013 SCCA Solo Rules and Saint Louis Region Supplemental’s.  Participants are encouraged to become familiar with the SCCA Solo Rules, particularly section 1.4 EVENT OPERATING RULES.  The rule book may be found on the SCCA website, in the Solo – Cars and Rules section.
    • Familiarizing yourself with the rules is important for minimal issues at events.

  • All cars must be in the Tech line (or must have completed Tech Inspection) by 8:25 a.m. to be eligible to run. Please have your car number and class properly displayed before putting your car into the Tech line, and bring your helmet.  Annual Tech is available for those eligible.
    • We need to be able to get the first car off by 9:15, to enable more runs for everyone.

  • Helmets meeting the following standards must be worn while on course:
All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell
    Foundation standards (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010,
    M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98), SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A,
    31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable.
    • Loaner helmets will be available.

  • All entrants are expected to use common sense and be courteous of the facility, so we have a place to play for many years to come.
