What is an Australian Pursuit?

There will be 4 classes. Over and under 2.5 liters on 200 or higher street tires and over and under 2.5 liters on R Comp or race tires. There will be a random pairing of cars in each class. We will run approximately 3 laps with the exact number to be determined on the number of entries. If there is an odd number of entries there will be a bye.

Class information:

T1 = Street Tire Under 2.5L

T2 = Street Tire Over 2.5L

T3 = Race Tire Under 2.5L

T4 = Race Tire Over 2.5L

NO KARTS WILL BE PERMITTED TO COMPETE.

The course will be set up as a mirrored oval with two start lines 180 degrees apart with the cars running in a counter clockwise direction. The starter will stand in the infield and drop a flag to start the race. The car that crosses their start finish line first will be declared the winner. If the winner can't be determined by sight there will be a rerun. If a car hits a pylon the race will be stopped and the other driver declared the winner. If one car gets too close to the other the race will be stopped and the leading car declared the winner.

This is a double elimination event which means you must lose 2 times before you are eliminated. The first time you are beat you move to the loser bracket and are paired with another losing car, in the end the winner of the losers bracket and the winner of the winners bracket will be paired up to determine the class winner.

Once the 4 class winners are determined each one will be paired up until there is only 1 car left. Again you have to lose twice before being eliminated. A two driver car will be bracketed at opposite ends of the bracket. If the 2 driver cars get paired we will time each driver with a stop watch.

It is imperative that the cars and the drivers pay attention to the announcer and are in their cars ready to grid on the start line. This is not a fair event and there will be inequalities in cars that are paired but hitting a pylon can be an equalizer.
