My bank said they approved the credit card transaction for my registration. Why are you rejecting it?

In order to protect you from fraud, we require that all transactions successfully pass the Address Verification System and have a matching 3 or 4-digit security code on the back of the card.

Here's how it works:

1. We put your transaction through as a query to your bank to see if they will approve it.

2. Your bank *may* approve the transaction even if everything doesn't match, but they also tell us what didn't match -- in this case, they specified that only the street address and security code matched, but not the zip code.

3. If all three things don't match (street address, zip, security code), we reject the transaction to protect both you and us from fraud.

4. In some cases, your bank may choose to continue showing these transactions that were approved but did not pass our security tests as pre-authorizations on your account. These pre-authorizations will fall off your card usually within 48 hours.
