Assign Classes, Groups & Numbers in Batch

Many organizations assign or modify the classes, groups and numbers for their attendees. Rather than edit each registration one-at-a-time, this tool allows making these changes across the entire entry list for quick and painless updates. Organizers can even include the most recent assignment or log book entry to help assess where a participant may belong.

Competitive organizations typically allow attendees to select their own classes and groups at time of registration but may still make batch changes in the event that a class is moved from one group to another (often due to attendance issues).

If you are not using a number pool to prevent duplicates, you can also resolve number conflicts by class or group easily with the sorting and filtering options.

Filtering

You can operate on any number of segments. Start by filtering to the portion(s) of the event and attendees of interest:

Once filtered, the following grid will be presented:

Depending on your use of classes, class modifiers, groups and number pools, your columns may look slightly different. Every change is automatically saved so there is no chance of losing your work due to Internet connection issues or your session expiring due to inactivity.

Based upon the clicked header, you will see sub-total counts for each group. Click to sort by Class or Group and get an instant count of the number of assignments.

Sorting For Speed

You can hold down shift and click more than one header to sort multiple columns simultaneously. This comes in handy when resolving duplicate numbers - first click by class or group and then holding down shift, click the number column to see an ordered list of numbers by class or group.

If scheduling changes require moving an entire class from one group to another (say at a club race), first sort by class and then you can quickly adjust the group column.

Log Book, Last Assignment, Club Question

For events where experience or prior behavior may dictate placement such as HPDE events, organizers and instructors often like to review any previous Log Book entries or the last Class/Group. Checking either of the "Extras" boxes will add a column to help you make assignments more accurately based on a participants history.

If you use Club Questions, you can also display one as a column (helpful if you track sign-off, experience, license level or other related data).

Managing Numbers

The assignment tool also helps identify and resolve number disputes either with or without permanent numbers. It can also arbitrarily assign a sequence of numbers when participants are not allowed to select their own number.

You can operate on any number of segments. Start by filtering to the portion(s) of the event and attendees of interest:

Once filtered, the following grid will be presented:

Columns P1, P2 and P3 represent the attendee's preferred numbers, pulled from their vehicle profiles. In the event of conflicts, this can help find a suitable alternative. Note that you can avoid conflicts altogether with our number manager.

Edit or add numbers in the right-most column. Every change is automatically saved so there is no chance of losing your work due to Internet connection issues or your session expiring due to inactivity.

Generating Numbers

A useful feature for driving schools, safety clinics and other events where numbers are assigned is our auto-generator.

Select the number you wish to start with and whether it should fill in blank numbers or overwrite all numbers.

By first sorting the table (click the headers) by name, registration date, class, group or preferred numbers you can change the order in which the sequence is applied. For example, to give the lowest number to the earliest registrant, first click to sort on the registration date header and then generate the numbers.

If you are working on multiple segments simultaneously, an option exists to only assign one number per attendee regardless of how many assignments they have. This is useful when you have a multi-day event but want each participant to have just one number if they are attending multiple days.
