Account Options
The Account Options page allows you to set certain notification and payment processing settings for your club.
Features
The following features are available in Account Options. Some options are limited to Premium and White Label plans or certain national organizations and may not be visible to all customers.
Notify On Join
MotorsportReg.com has a very large master database of people who've created user accounts in order to register for events. The master database also contains over 350 organizations, each of which has a member database that is a subset of the master member database. People can join an organization's member database three ways:
- Register for an event, which adds them to the database
- Edit their profile and add the organization to their list of memberships
- An organizer can add them manually if they know their email address
In any case, their member status in the club is set to New. There are other statuses available: Approved, Blacklisted (which prevents registration), etc. You can choose to limit event registration for a particular event to approved members only. To make it easier to pre-approve members, the Notify On Join option will send notification emails when someone joins your member database inside of MSR.
Notify On Registration
Event registrars can opt to be notified by email when someone registers for the event. This notification option is a blanket notification: email addresses listed here are notified when any event in your account receives a registration.
Notify On Payment
Event registrars can opt to be notified by email when someone pays for an event. This notification option is a blanket notification: email addresses listed here are notified when any event in your account receives a payment.
Accept AmEx
By default, MotorsportReg.com accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and eChecks. Organizations can opt to accept American Express as well.
SCCA Web Service Token
SCCA National has an excellent web service that allows us to dynamically verify membership status, licenses and electronically remit weekend memberships. The web service token is like a password that authorizes us to interface the National system on your behalf.
Your Regional Executive can request this from SCCA National at 1-800-770-2055.
Membership Verification
Premium plan customers and SCCA / MBCA / BMW CCA / PCA / ACNA regions can verify their membership status by enabling this box. Verification is a two-step process:
- Check member profile for an expiration date in the future and not inactive: This is the quick check. We don't change member status and we don't verify the name or member number. If the expiration date is in the future, either someone (a registrar) or something (the verification service on a prior attempt) has set the date in the future and we trust it. To keep things fast, we only perform the full check below when we find the membership is not valid (e.g., expiration date is empty or in the past)
- If that fails, use the full verification service to match name and member number: If we use our verification service, we automatically set the member status to Approved, New, or Expired depending on the result of the look up each time someone registers for an event or when triggered manually by a registrar. You can also use our validation rules to enforce certain actions on your registration forms.
Note: If the member profile passes the quick check of the expiration date, they will pass any "member must be valid" validation rules. They will not, however, have their member status changed as that may override a manual change by an organizer.
SCCA Regions
If we have your web service token on file, we will automatically pass the name and member number to SCCA National for verification and update their status.
MBCA Sections
Mercedes-Benz Club of America customers automatically support membership verification in real-time against the National database. You only need to check the box indicating you wish to verify memberships to enable it.
BMW CCA Chapters
BMW CCA chapter organizers automatically support membership verification in real-time against the National database. You only need to check the box indicating you wish to verify memberships to enable it.
PCA Regions
PCA region organizers automatically support membership verification against a cached copy of the National database. The database is updated daily keeping the data always less than 24 hours old. You only need to check the box indicating you wish to verify memberships to enable it.
Audi Club Chapters
Audi Club North America chapters automatically support membership verification in real-time against the National database. You only need to check the box indicating you wish to verify memberships to enable it.
Other Organizations
Premium plan customers can handle membership upload a CSV file as their verification source. Generally this is a file provided monthly by a national organization or generated from their membership system.
It must be a comma-separated values (CSV) file with no header row and with fields ordered left to right like:
Member Number, Email, First, Last, Expiration Date
The email is optional. Expiration dates must be formatted mm/dd/yyyy and the file must be 4MB or less. Some sample data would look like:
1234,joe@blow.com,Ines,Intermediate,12/31/2011 4232,,Tom,Teacher,8/1/2010 2933,freddy@fast.com,Freddy,Fast,12/31/2009
Once successfully uploaded and processed, for any member that does not pass test #1 above, we will look up against this list for verification. We recommend updating this data monthly to keep it reasonably current with new members.
Member Expiration Date
Depending on where you verify the membership, we may be comparing the expiration date to the current date (today) or to the start date of your event following this list:
- Click the "verify" link on member profile - compares it to "now".
- Click the "verify" link on registration - compares it to "now".
- Use the "membership is valid" validation rule - compare it to the start date of the event
- Use the "membership is valid today" validation rule - compare it during registration to "now"
Google Analytics Integration
If you are not yet a Google Analytics user, read Why should I use Google Analytics? Who is it for?.
Premium and White Label plan customers can add their Google Analytics Web Property ID to track visitors to pages related to their events on MotorsportReg.com. This provides you a wealth of insight including click-through data from your email marketing campaigns. The Web Property ID is part of your tracking code and is formatted like UA-XXXXXX-Y.
Pages Tracked
Currently the following pages are tracked:
- Private landing page
- Advertisement
- Pre-Reg Requirements
- Order form
- Attendee list
- Profile Add (add organization to profile)

Adding Analytics Profiles
When using this option with MotorsportReg.com, you should make some changes to the way your Analytics account is set up so you can report separately on traffic to your pages on MotorsportReg.com vs. traffic to pages on your own website(s).
The most commonly recommended approach is to add additional Website Profiles to your Analytics account. Assuming you have a basic account for your website today, you should keep the current profile as it is so that you have one all-inclusive profile of all of your visitor data. Then add two new profiles: one for MotorsportReg.com and the other for your existing website. In each of these profiles, add a filter that "Includes only" traffic from specific domains. Use "motorsportreg.com" and "yourdomain.com" respectively. These new child profiles will filter all incoming data so you can look at everything (the master), just the MotorsportReg.com traffic or just the YourDomain.com traffic.
