Workers - Historics Festival 40

Lime Rock Park

About this event

Historic Racing

Celebrating its 40th year, the Lime Rock Historic Festival once again brings together an exciting and diverse field of historic racing machines for a Labor Day Weekend celebration of speed, sound and beauty with classes that range from pre-war open-wheel cars to the sports and formula cars of the postwar era.  Friday, Saturday and Monday feature non-stop, on-track competition across a diverse set of historic racing classes.

Featured Racing Class

The feature in this year’s Historic Racing lineup will be Historic Trans Am. There’s never been a more hard-fought race series than the Trans Am races of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Driven by motorsports legends, these mighty muscle cars roared — Mustangs, Camaros, Javelins, Firebirds, Cougars, and more. You’ll see the actual Trans Am race cars on the track, not reproductions. Fifty years later, they’re still going strong and you’ll see (and hear) them battle it out at the Historic Festival.

Sunday in the Park

Historic Festival 40's Sunday in the Park will celebrate the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Corvette with several special displays, including 12 rarely seen Concept Cars straight from General Motors, over 20 significant competition Corvettes and a specially selected group of production cars reflecting the important milestones in Corvette’s legacy as America’s premier sports car.

Sunday in the Park will also feature a special exhibition that compares the Trans Am racers to their production counterparts, Z/28s, Boss 302s, Cuda AARs and more.
