Looking for something to do while your family members are on-track with RTR @ Watkins Glen....?
How about exploring the largest collection of glass art in the world with your very own tour guide!?
Join Beth McFadden, a glass artist with a BFA in Glassblowing and more than 15 years of experience, for an excursion from the Watkins Glen track to the Corning Museum of Glass for a half-day tour on the morning of July 22nd. Beth will take you through the collection, giving you an in depth look at this unique art medium--and will answer questions on glassblowing and its history.
Following that, the group will go into the town of Corning where you will have free rein to have lunch and browse the stores on main street.
Adults and kids of all ages are welcome. This is sure to be a treat for any who attend and we had great feedback from those who toured with us last year!
Event requirements
TIMING
We'll meet at the track at 9:30AM on Saturday the 22nd, and leave for Corning by 10AM. Our return time is flexible depending on how much fun we're having exploring Corning! But we'll be back in time for the track banquet Saturday evening.
FEES
There is no cost other than the price of a ticket for museum: $19.50 that can be paid when we get there.
LUNCH
Lunch is your choice, and there are many to choose from. Some favorites are the Corning Brewing Company (I plan to have lunch here and anyone is welcome to join in my reservation) and great pizza places. Other shopping highlights include: The Pyrex Outlet store, Finger Lakes Wines, and Vitrix Glass Studio, and many other unique stores in downtown Corning.
DRIVERS WANTED
If you have a car and are willing to drive yourself and others to the museum, please let us know on the registration page how many you can fit...!

Since there is no cost other than the museum admission, we only ask that you register (on the next page) so we can have a relatively firm headcount and help plan transportation.
