VMSCNOVICE Autocross School "the art of successful cone dodging"
MUST HAVE 2 YEARS OR LESS OF AUTOCROSS TO ENTER (if in doubt contact Audie at autocross57@gmail.com
24 Full day school with one-on-one instruction.
Day includes AM driving on full course and dedicated slalom and PM continues driving and course work with timed runs.
Some of the skills you will work on include:
- how to walk an autocross course (what it all means)
- seat position in the car and how it affects how you see the course
- launching: how to get the most from your gas pedal
- looking ahead (makes smoother drivers therefore faster drivers)
- hard controlled braking not to late but not to soon (braking -vs- gas)
- art of the slalom (dedicted 8 cone slalom to practice on)
- how to safely work and autocross course
- learn the limits of your car and tires
Some of the skills autocross teaches you:
- car handling and control
- becoming more aware of what's around you when you drive
- concentration
- fast thinking
- quick reaction times
Cost is $70.00 - Includes lunch
Event requirements
MEMBERS will be given until 14th to sign up and then it's open to the public.
You do need a valid driver's license and be able to present it at registration.
Minors (16 and 17) will need to fill out a waiver located on this page: http://www.vmsc.org/upload-download-files/public-files/index.php and bring it.
NOTE: both parent’s signatures are required (if appropriate) and at least one parent must show up with minor age students at registration on the day of school. That parent may leave after there student is signed in.
The cost is $70 for school Lunch from Subway is included.

12:00 - 12:45 Lunch (Club provided)
12:50 Brief afternoon drivers meeting
1:00 - 2:15 Group A runs Group B works
2:30 - 3:45 Group B runs Group A works
4:00 All hands debriefing and cleanup
