Are you ready for The Inn at Gristmill Square?

THIS IS A DRIVERS TOUR, led by Alex Lunsford .  It’s a solid 2+ days of driving – usually 6 hours / day of nothing but turns - so be advised.  There will be rest stops every 90 mins or so.  No whining, smiles mandatory, topless encouraged.  And there is always a surprise.  :)     There is a registration fee of $100 per person going which covers: a bluegrass band Friday night, a custom polo shirt for each registered attendee, and group tips for staff at the hotel.  Alex has reserved all the rooms at the Inn at Gristmill Square once again this year.  Booking instructions are on the next page before you begin your registration.

Overview:

Friday, July 20:  Haymarket, VA.  Depart by 10:15AM driving mostly back roads via Shenandoah and George Washington National Parks. We will stop in Staunton for lunch.   Arrive to Warm Springs, VA by @ 5 pm (Inn at Gristmill Square).  Group Dinner Buffet on Friday is $60 pp plus any extra apps and tip and gratuity and which will be charged to your rooms on checkout, or will be collected from you on site if not staying at the Inn.  .  Bluegrass will be playing:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZphQXy9fUY   The cash bar is open and you can pay your own drinks directly.

Saturday, July 21:  Breakfast on your own, and then take a 7 hour drive, with breaks every 90 mins or so over the best roads of Bath and Alleghany counties.  Plus one low-speed gravel road section for 2 miles that Alex has done in his Corvette. (So cowboy up.  Cars may get dusty....)  Tour includes Lake Moomaw, Gathright Dam, and Airport Rd from the backside of Clifton Forge (elev. 1083 ft) to Ingalls Field (elev. 3792 feet- Virginia’s “Teeth of the Dragon” road).  Lunch in Covington at 1 pm.  Arrive back at about 5:30 pm.

From 6:30 pm to 8 pm:  meet at the Inn bar and mingle. Saturday night dinner is on your own  but you are encouraged to make reservations with your (new) friends to eat at the Gristmill again - or elsewhere for Saturday dinner.  Popular and wonderful nearby places to eat and explore within 15 mins away in either Hot Springs or in Warm Springs:

Sunday, July 22: Warm Springs, VA to home.  Leave when you want, however you want.  Bath County Art show is going on – wonderful local, national, and international art.  I bought some last year.  http://bathcountyarts.org/2018-art-show/
