VCMC Time Attack - Full Day Turkey Challenge

Join us for a FULL DAY on Sunday October11th, 2020 for VCMC Time Attack - Turkey Challenge from 7am-4pm at Mission Raceway Park hosted by VCMC Motorsport Club.
Time Attack offers a safe environment for those looking to join a group of people who test both their personal limits and the limits of the car. We aim to create a constructive community for participants to work together and defeat the proverbial clock.

This event is limited in the number of participants (42)

TURKEY Challenge Special:
- We will be able to offer a maximum of six (6) spaces available with instruction to first timers. Instruction will be provided in a lead-follow format to allow you to safely experience the track. If this is your first time on track, you will not be timed as it will be a learning experience. 
- A prize will be given to the car that most resembles a turkey
- A prize will also be given to the smallest displacement (1.7x for boosted cars), most stock car

First timers and new novices attend an orientation session at the start of the event. We strongly suggest attending at least 1 High Performance Driver Education or Lapping event prior to registering in a Time Attack event.

*A timing transponder is required for this event. A transponder is offered for drivers who do not have one for $35

*VCMC Membership is included. You automatically become a VCMC member when you register and attend an event.

*A 2020 CACC Time Attack License is required prior to participation.
Event registration can be completed prior to completing your CACC Time Attack Licence, however a License application and payment must be completed prior to event participation.

All registrations must be accompanied by electronic payment. If extenuating circumstances prevent you from using the credit card option on, please contact our Time Attack Director to arrange for an alternative payment method.

Your entry fee does not include lunch.

Event requirements

The Time Attack Full Day event will be limited to a maximum of 42 paid participants plus organizing volunteers.

Tentative Schedule
7:00 am - gates & tech open
7:50 am - tech closes
8:00 am - mandatory drivers meeting
8:30 am - on track sessions begin
4:00 pm - on track activities cease
4:30 pm - premises must be vacated
*The schedule is tentative and subject to change during the event.

The event will include 2 warmup/ qualifying sessions and 4 timed sessions (time permitting)

Warm-up runs: ~10 minutes (2 warm-up sessions on a full day event)
Drivers will be classified based on their anticipated lap time. Any grouping changes can then be made before official timed runs begin.

Timed runs: Out-lap, 3 timed laps, cool-down lap (4 timed session expected on a full day event)
Run heats will be staggered based on each cars fastest time of the day. If you surpass another vehicles lap time, you will run ahead of them in your heat. Organizers will actively update and stager drivers based on their perspective lap times.

First-time Driver
You have never attended a track event before. This is your first time at Mission Raceway or any other full-day track event.

Novice Driver
Only a Novice CACC Time Attack license is required for Time Attack events at Mission Raceway.

Senior Driver
A Senior License is not required to attend Time Attack events at Mission Raceway.

Vehicle Requirements
Technical inspection shall be mandatory for all cars with special attention given to brakes, suspension, throttle linkages, and loose articles in the car. The responsibility to ensure that the cars and driver’s equipment complies with all regulations and is safe rests solely on the entrant and driver. The very act of presenting a car for any Technical Inspection is deemed to be an acceptance of this responsibility.
Convertibles: All soft top or hard top convertible vehicles are ineligible to participate unless they are equipped with adequate roll protection as specified in the CACC Time Attack Rules and pass the "broomstick test".  Factory roll hoops do not count as pre-approved roll protection.

Tech check includes, but is not limited to:
-Brakes (min. 50% all around), pedal firm and not soft
-Steering components tight
-Suspension components nothing loose (Ball-joint, bushings)
-No leaking fluids
-Battery secure
-Throttle not sticking
-Remove all loose items in car
-Proper tires and tread depth
-Wheel nut/bolt torqued
-No major cracks in windscreen
-No loose body panels
-Seat belts working in factory condition; aftermarket harness FIA or SFI approved and not expired
-Coolant level adequate
-Door can be opened from both inside/outside
-Windshield wiper operating and working in good condition for the track (if rain is present)
-Fuel cap present and not leaking
-Exhaust note is within db limit for the track
-Driver: Helmet (minimum rating) and proper footwear (closed toe)

Sound Limit
Track noise limit is 95db measured from the racing line. Vehicles that exceed the sound limit will not be permitted to run.

All drivers and passengers must wear a Snell M 2010 (or newer with a SFI balaclava) or Snell SA helmet when on track and any designated hot areas. Any car with a roll bar/ cage must use a Snell SA helmet (Snell M not allowed).
Loaner helmets are available upon request, if one is needed please make a note of it while registering prior to the event.

All VCMC time attack events are sanctioned by CACC and are held under CACC Time Attack Rules and CACC GCR
