About this event
Turkeys in the Trunk: We Have Two Opportunities to Share the Holiday Spirit and Give Back to the Communities in our Porsche Club of America Region!!!
The air is not yet chilly, but we are raking leaves with no end in sight! As the Holiday Season approaches, please make plans to join fellow Shenandoah Region members for our fourth annual "Turkeys in the Trunk" event on Saturday, November 21, 2020. PCA members, friends and acquaintances are encouraged to participate. This is all about giving back to our communities!!!
Note: To register for either the Charlottesville or Richmond event, hit the "Continue" button at the bottom of this page. After a second "Continue" button on the next page, you will be taken to registration. There, you will have a choice to sign up for either Turkeys in the Trunk in Richmond, or Turkeys in the Trunk in Charlottesville. Please check the box next to the event you'd like to attend and a dropdown menu will prompt you to sign up for each portion of that particular event (i.e. the dealership portion and the follow-on lunch social). Please read on:
For those of you who haven’t been to “Turkeys in the Trunk”, this is how it works: First, you load all you can into your front trunk, or your back trunk with frozen turkeys, canned vegetables, yams, non-perishable food and the rest of the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal. Don’t forget to leave room for your spouse or significant other, but tell them to pack lightly!
This will again be a multi-Region event in conjunction with First Settlers Region. Please register on this site so we may have an accurate headcount of the participants for planning and logistics. There will be separate registration block for members in the central/western location and eastern location within the Shenandoah Region. Both locations will hold their respective events on November 21st. Please select the location most convenient for you to participate.
Western/Central Segment-Shenandoah Region
For members in the western/central portion of the Region we will be supporting the Thomas Jefferson Area Branch of the Blue Ridge Food Bank, 1207 Harris Street, Charlottesville (map), a member of Feeding America.
We appreciate the continued support of Shawn Ayers and his staff at Porsche of Charlottesville (Flow Porsche), 1313 Richmond Road, Charlottesville (map). We will meet at Flow Porsche at 10:30 AM. We will have our driver’s meeting prior to the short drive to the Blue Ridge Food Bank at approximately 11:15 AM.
For financial donations, please make checks payable to the Blue Ridge Food Bank.
Eastern Segment-Shenandoah Region
For members in the eastern portion of the Region, we will be supporting the Greater Richmond Food Bank (aka Feedmore), Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization dedicated to providing neighbors in need with healthy meals along with Richmond area members of First Settlers Region.
We appreciate the continued support of Mark Cooke and his staff. We will meet at Euroclassics Porsche (Euroclassics), 11900 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian (map) at 11 AM. Coffee, snacks and soft drinks will be available and supplied by Euroclassics. Feedmore will have a refrigerated truck on site to collect our donations. For financial donations, please make checks payable to “Feedmore”. Whoever brings the most food by weight, will win a prize donated by the dealership.
After we've loaded our donations into the Foodbank's freezer truck at the dealership, we shall reconvene at Mission BBQ for lunch, courtesy of Shenandoah, First Settlers and Mission BBQ. Be sure to receive your lunch ticket after making your donation. Mission BBQ is located at 12630 Stone Village Way. The restaurant is 6/10ths of a mile west of Euroclassics on Midlothian Turnpike.
Thank you in advance for your participation. This event CAN make a difference in our communities!!
