Trip to NC Museum of Art Porsche Exhibit

Please join us for a trip to North Carolina to tour the "Porsche - Seducing Speed" exhibit at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh.

Here's the plan:

• Friday
  • Our headquarters hotel will be the Durham Marriott City Center, the only hotel in downtown Durham, NC, walking distance to everything but the museum in Raleigh.
  • We'll start the weekend with a no host happy hour at 6PM at a bar/restaurant to be announced near the hotel. 
• Saturday
  • We'll depart after breakfast for the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh
  • Enjoy a guided tour of the "Porsche - Seducing Speed" Exhibit at 11:30
  • Lunch will be at 1PM at the Museum's Porsche Biergarten (Exhibition Cafe)
    • Chicken Breast Schnitzel with thyme wild mushroom sauce, Spaetzle. Mixed field greens with herb shallot vinaigrette
      • If you prefer a vegetarian selection, you can note that during the registration process 
  • You're on your own for the rest of the afternoon for a self guided perusal of the rest of the museum
  • We're working on a tour of the Ingram Porsche Collection for Saturday evening, which will include a reception or subsequent dinner at a local restaurant
• Sunday
  • After brunch at a Durham restaurant, we'll head home via a fun run or on your own, TBA.

Accomodations:

We'll have a block of 20 rooms at a rate of $101 per night, plus tax at the Durham Marriott City Center.  This rate is available for rooms on Friday and/or Saturday night.  Reservations can be made directly with the hotel, 888-236-2427.  You must request the "Porsche Room Block" to get the special rate.  Or, go to this direct link to book your room online at the block rate:

We could only block 20 rooms to avoid a financial obligation.  If you try to make a reservation and the block is full, please email the registrar and we'll try to get rooms added to the block.

Blocked rooms must be reserved by 28 Nov, after which unused rooms will be released.

Breakfast is NOT included in the room rate (the buffet is $15 if you're interested).  We're looking into a group breakfast at a nearby restaurant for Saturday, and we will meet for brunch on Sunday at a Durham restaurant.

Registration is a la carte, you can register for whichever events you choose, arrive Friday or Saturday, or not even spend the night... it's your choice.

This event is limited to 60 people due to tour size limitations.
