About this event
Before you put up with the neighborhood kids knocking on your door Halloween night, why not spend that money on some sweet times for yourself? The final Meatball event of the year is coming up October 28th. Once again, we're invading Thunderhill Raceway Park, looking to follow our regular plan of open space, tons of time, and a low-stress day. The Monday format has worked great for us, helping to keep this affordable with a low number of attendees, and who doesn't like stretching the weekend an extra day?
This time, we've sweetened the deal! We're keeping the price the same at $325, which includes lunch, snacks, and bottled water throughout the day, so all you need to do is prep your car, show up on time, and enjoy the day. In addition, we've teamed up with Head-On Photos to provide a personalized photo package, with approximately two dozen photos of your car on the track from multiple locations, plus a group shot, at no additional cost! If you've ever wanted to feel you've had too much track time, this is the group to run with. We're confident that you won't find a better package than this.
As usual, we've limited the total attendees to 50, so you can rest assured that no run group will be crowded. You can count on plenty of space and over two hours of scheduled run time, most likely with an additional combined group session at the end of the day.
Event requirements
You need to arrive with a safe, reliable vehicle and reasonable safety equipment. This includes, but is not limited to a Snell 2005 or newer certified full-face helmet, functional roll-bars in open cars (SCCA approved or equivalent recommended. Decorative bars, exhaust pipe that looks like a roll bar and various expressions of art in the PVC, ABS, or similar medium will not be accepted).
If you are driving an open-topped car, be prepared to pass the ever-popular "broomstick test" (a broomstick connecting the top of the windshield to the roll bar must clear your helmeted head by more than one inch), unless you can demonstrate factory roll-over protection. Full-compliance to the details outlined in the required tech sheet must be achieved.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate SUV's, cross-overs, or similar vehicles with a high center of gravity (we've just seen too many Dateline NBC episodes to feel comfortable with them). Yes, this even includes BMW X5s and Porsche Cayennes. If you think you may fall into this category, drop a line to erik@meatballmotorsports.com before registering.
For this event we have the following run groups:
Group 1: Point-by passing in specified areas (includes manditory classroom sessions in the morning)
Group 2: Point-by in corners, open in specified areas
Group 3: Open passing when safe
Any attendees that do not have experience with Meatball Motorsports will be required to join this event in Group 1 only, or gain approval based on prior experience, from Meatball Motorsports.
