Top Gun Junior Drivers Academy is a joint program created by:
Axon Driver Solutions, BBR Karting, and Speed-Fanatics Motorsports.
We are looking for kids aged from 7-12 years to join us in this 3 day program during Spring Break in March 2020 and become future race car drivers thru coaching from the very best in the sport.
Cost includes one driving student aged between 7-12 years old and a guardian.
Day 1 is an orientation day where the group will meet at Axon Driver Solutions.
Students are introduced to track driving through our advanced driving simulators.
Instructors will educate driving basics such as:
1) Seating positions
2) Hand eye coordination
3) Flags
4) Control of throttle and brake pedals
5) Racing lines
6) Sportsmanship
Day 2 and 3 will be held at the Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack where students will be introduced to race karts.
Full race gear will be provided and fitted for each student
Exercises to be covered during the two-day on track program includes:
1) Track walk - when instructors will point out important visual references around the circuit
2) Slow speed train lapping with instructor leading the pack
3) Student observing instructors driving from grand stand
4) Intermediate speed train lapping
5) Introduction of passing
6) Driving the perfect laps (solo)
7) Simulation start of races
8) Final exam driving session
Registration fee includes:
1) Day 1 simulator driving program at Axon Driver Solutions
2) Round trip shuttle bus transits on Day 2 and 3 from Vancouver to Chilliwack
3) All meals on Days 2 and 3 (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
3) Hotel accommodation of Day 2 evening in Chilliwack
4) All racing gear required on Days 2 and 3
5) Usage of race karts and all consumables
6) Track entry fees
Day 2 and 3 programs will run from 9am to 4:30pm each day.
Students please wear their own runners as foot wear at this event.
Event will be NOT be cancelled if weather forecast hints for rain; we run rain or shine just like any other forms of racing.
Event requirements
Please specified your karting experience before registering. Organizer has the right to move participants into run groups which best suits their skill levels.
No open toe shoes are allowed on track and around the pit area.
Organizer has the right to send a participant home if this person is not behaving in good manners or is making dangerous moves on track which may affect the safety of others.
