Three-Day Fall Adventure to Southwest Wisconsin

Friday, September 29th thru Sunday, October 1st

Southwest Wisconsin is known for some spectacular backroads and our fall trip is headed that direction!  Come join your BMW friends on an enjoyable ride featuring great attractions, beautiful scenery, delicious food and, of course, fabulous roads.  The trip is limited to 12 couples, so don't delay in signing up.

Here's what we plan to see along the way.  We will depart from Apple Valley on Friday, September 29 at 9:00 a.m.  Headed southeast along the Mississippi River, we'll cross into Wisconsin at Winona and will make sure to traverse the always entertaining Mindoro Cut northeast of LaCrosse.  We all know our BMWs prefer backroads, so we plan to avoid freeways and interstates at all costs.  Our lodging on Friday night will be at the Hillsboro Hotel in Hillsboro, WI.  

Saturday we will head south towards the arts and crafts town of Mineral Point.  (https://mineralpoint.com) That weekend is the local Cornish Festival celebrating the lead mining legacy that once made this area famous (www.cornishfest.org).  We'll check out the festivities and will even discover why Wisconsin is called the Badger State due to the history of Mineral Point.  We may even find a traditional pasty for lunch.  

Next we will head east on backroads to New Glarus to enjoy the New Glarus Brewery, the home of Spotted Cow Beer (www.newglarusbrewing.com).  Once we have had enough of the brewery, we will tour the quaint Swiss downtown before departing for our lodging destination for the night, the House on the Rock Resort located outside Spring Green.

Sunday is reserved for a tour of the legendary House on the Rock (www.thehouseontherock.com). If you have never been there, you are in for an unusual and memorable experience.  Even if you have toured in the past, new attractions are being added all the time, so you are bound to see something new.  Feel free to stay as long as you like and head back to the Twin Cities as your schedule allows.

First, visit MotorsportReg and sign up for the trip (www.motorsportreg.com).  There is no cost to register, but of course, you are responsible for all costs incurred along the way (meals, hotels, gas, admission costs, etc.)

Next, you need to register for your hotel rooms for both Friday and Saturday night.  Contact the hotels directly and indicate you are part of the BMW Car Club room block.

All participants will receive detailed route instructions at the beginning of the trip.  As always, trip details are subject to modification based on unforeseen circumstances.  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver form as required by the BMW Car Club of America.
