About this event
Run the 2010 Texas TableTop Rally, brought to you by the Texas Region, SCCA, with the cooperation of Mapsco. You "rally" in the Roads of Texas atlas, entirely in the air-conditioned comfort of your own home. The tricks, traps, and challenges are much the same as in one of our driving rallies, without actually needing a car. The rallymasters and pre-checkers are names you know, especially if you have run our previous events. This year's event is shorter than last year's, with only about 35 questions. But the challenge is just as serious. For those of you who ran last year, this year we are including a Main Road Rule. See if you like this way better. It's still fun!
There will be no 'in-person' registration. You must register here at MotorsportReg.com. You may pay here by credit-card; you may pay by Pay Pal at pp-rally@texasscca.org; or you may send a check to Registrar, 702 West Shore Drive, Richardson, TX 75080. The cost is only $15 for SCCA members, and $20 for non-members. Registration is open now, and will remain open for the month of June.
You must have a copy of the latest Mapsco Roads of Texas, which is the same book that we sent out last year for the 2009 TableTop Rally. It is identified as "ISBN-13: 978-1-56996-421-6" on the back cover, or as "Copyright 2005, 2008" on page 1. You can order one by calling Mapsco at 800-388-1201 (M-F during CDT business hours from now through June 30th) and asking to speak to Lynn Smith, and mentioning the "Texas TableTop Rally." The price is $15.96 (20% off retail), with postage paid. Or you may email Mr. Smith at ftwretail@mapsco.com, including your credit card information.
The third edition of the Texas TableTop Rally will be fun, and a challenge to the rally-literate. So enter today! Don't delay, because you will need plenty of time to get the correct answers.
Classes: First-timer: never run a map rally before; Novice: never won a trophy in a map rally; General: does not meet the conditions of the other classes; Master: has won a first-place trophy in the Massacre or other Massacre-type map rally, or has entered such a rally 10 or more times. You may declare yourself in Master Class regardless of your experience level. The Class is determined by the most experienced member of the team.
This rally is not sanctioned by SCCA, but is a part of our Texas Region RoadRally Championship Series.
Event requirements
You are not required to have a car or a navigator for this event, and you may leave those sections blank. If you are working with your navigator, and you want to both be given credit for your placing, then please fill out the Navigator section. For a multi-person team, the person registered here must email a list of team member names and emails to rally@texasscca.org. Each team member with a valid email will receive Generals and Route Instructions. There will be one award per team. You may submit a team name, in which case results will be reported using that name.
