About this event
Twickenham Auto Club's Autocross School: Beyond the Basics
You're invited to participate in TAC's Autocross School: Beyond the Basics. This school is geared toward autocrossers with moderate experience level, not a beginner course. Maybe you want to break past a plateau, hone in on getting faster, or just practice with an instructor. There will be a classroom session on Friday evening (it is highly recommended that you do not skip this). Saturday will primarily consist of seat time. The morning will start with a quick review, then the rest of the morning will focus on mastering individual features. A timed autocross course will be set up where you will learn to combine features. We will walk the course and look for items discussed from the classroom. You'll learn how to break down the course to find the best line (where to drive), while considering the best way to drive that line (handling). The day will be devoted to improving your skill set.
Date
September 28-29, 2018
Experience Requirements
Must not be brand new to autocross. Must have a minimum of a full season of autocross or similar experience. This equates to about 10 autocrosses within a 3 year period. Exceptions may be made during the final week of registration (starting 9/23), depending on availability. See registration schedule below.
Registration, Entry Cap, and Waitlist
The school will be limited to 21 students, allowing plenty of seat time and one-on-one instruction. Initially, everyone who registers will be placed on the waitlist. Once your experience level is verified, you'll appear on the attendee list. First come, first serve. If the event is full, please register anyway and you will be held on the waitlist. In order to give members and experienced students priority, registration will be open according to the following schedule -- mark your calendar:
9/14 at noon -- Registration open to TAC and/or TVR members who meet experience requirements.
9/19 -- Registration open to non-members who meet experience requirements.
9/23 -- Registration open to novices who have completed at least 5 autocrosses.
9/26 -- Registration closes at midnight.

Sound Policy
TAC/TVR has a strict sound policy, due to our residential location and agreement with the Milton Frank Stadium owners. Your car must not be louder than 96 dB without exception. Sound will be monitored approximately 50 feet from the course. The type of exhaust (stock vs aftermarket) is not restricted, but it must not exceed 96 dB. If your car exceeds 96 dB on a run, you will be notified, the run will be scored as a DNF, and not allowed to run again. If you show that a modification has been made to reduce noise (driving at half throttle does not count), then you will be allowed to run again. If your car exceeds the limit a second time, you will not be allowed to run for the rest of the day. We want EVERYONE to have a great day autocrossing, please make this easy by fixing your car before the event!
