St. James Guitar Tour Saturday, July 20
The first half of our year has been a bit damp. Luckily, nature smiled on a few of our events allowing for fun drives, and hopefully, the sun will come out for our planned tour to Sybill’s Restaurant in St. James and Metalin’ Guitars. Elaine Rose and Allen Maddy have put together another St. James Run for our St. Louis and mid-Missouri members. Our goal calls for a tour rst to Sybil’s for lunch and then to Wolfert’s Tool & Machine Company. Ken Wolfert opened his machine shop more than 20 years ago to produce machine parts for area manufacturers and aerospace companies. Ken’s shop is also the home of Metalin’ Guitars, producing aluminum-bodied guitars. A number of well known rock and heavy metal musicians have tried the Metalin’ Guitars and praise the sound coming from these incredible instruments. Ken and his staff have graciously offered to show us how they produce these magnificent instruments.
St. Louis area members: Join us at the BP Gas Station off Highway 109 (17151 Cam- bury Lane, Wildwood) at 8 am. At 8:30, we will roll out to Sybill’s. We have scheduled a rest stop at the Conoco gas station in Union with time to shop and use the restrooms before heading on to Sybill’s for an 11 a.m. lunch. Sybill’s has a gift shop in the front of the parking lot for a little post lunch shopping before we depart after lunch to head over to the Guitar Shop. Our tour of the Wolfert Machine Company begins at 1:30 pm.
Columbia Porsche Group area members: We will be gathering at the Central Regional Conservation Office located at 3500 E. Gans Road in Columbia - West of US-63, just south of Discovery Pkwy. Departure time from Columbia will be announced by e-mail and on the CPG Facebook page as we approach the event date.
