Rules and Information:

First we arrive at 4:30pm. Registration will start at 5:00pm with the drivers meeting planned for 6:00pm. The normal fees for our events will apply for both members and nonmembers. At the time of registering, every driver will give a minimum donation of $5.00 to the Chamionship fund. There is no maximum donation.
Total number of drivers will be limited to 75.
As the sun sets, the parking lot lights Will be used.
The normal 2 second penalty for hitting a cone will apply.
Throughout ALL rounds, no times will carry over. So if the fastest overall driver from round three spins or hits a cone in round four, odds are that driver will be out!
Everyone will be classed by National SCCA classes and ALL times will be indexed according to PAX. At the end of each round the final results will be announched and posted. We will assign run groups as usual and everyone will get four runs in the first heat. After that heat, the top 8 drivers(or 15% whichever number is greater), based on PAX will automatically be entered in the Championship Round. If a competitor feels that someone has sandbagged(purposley gone slower then they were able) in the first round they can call for a vote on that particular driver. If more then 2/3 of the competiters agree that the driver sandbagged, that driver will be eliminated from the remainder of the event. The rest of the competitors will now enter the Knockout rounds. Each driver gets one run. We index them all on PAX again and the slowest 1/3 of the field gets eliminated. The top 2/3 get another run, and again the slowest 1/3 are eliminated. We do a total of three Knockout rounds. That will leave us with 6 to 14 drivers at the end, depending on how many started. Those drivers will now go up against the 8 fastest from round one in two more rounds of Knockout. But this time 1/2 are eliminated each round. And remember, the top 8 from round one do not get a practice run, so they are now at a disadvantage, as the others have had more runs and the conditions(light and temperature) have changed. After the Knockout there will be 4-6 drivers left. They get one last run each, and the overall fastest (PAX) will be crowned Champion and given half of the Championship fund. The other half will go to the school in addition to our usual donation. Again throughout ALL rounds, no time will ever carry over. So consistency and not hitting cones will be imperative.
