Virginia Fall Foliage Drive and Dine - Sunday, November 8, 2020
This has been, shall we say, a special and interesting year....... For our Virginia Fall Foliage Drive and Dine on November 8, we thought a change of pace was in store. Rather than a late afternoon drive and a long nighttime jaunt back to civilization, we will bask in glorious daylight. We will enjoy a scenic drive across leafy Loudoun County to the historic Ashby Inn for brunch, and top it off with the best dessert - another scenic drive, across Mount Weather, leading to the wonderful Sunset Hills Vineyard and winery, including a tour and tasting
We will meet (socially-distanced, or course) at a rally point north of Manassas, Virginia around 10:15 am , heading across some of our favorite Northern Virginia back roads, bound for Paris.........Virginia. The Ashby Inn will be greeting us around 11:30 am with a three-course gourmet brunch, either on their covered and heated patio or inside the inn itself, depending on weather conditions. You will order your courses ahead of time as part of this registration, which will allow for both smooth service and an enjoyable visit. Price (inclusive of 3-course meal and room fee) will be $55 per person.
Following brunch, we will enjoy one of our favorite drives, taking us across the famous Mount Weather into the northern reaches of Loudoun County, to the Sunset Hills Vineyard (arriving around 1:45 pm). We will park on Willow Hill adjacent to the winery, with plenty of photo ops including the winery and vineyard, our cars, and the surrounding ponds, mountains and fall scenery. Here, we will be able to enjoy a private tour (including tank and barrel rooms and the vineyard, along with a wine tasting) led by owner Mike Canney (a Porsche owner). The tour will cost $22 per person. A la carte options include a regular wine tasting for $15, with glasses and bottles of wine available from $10 to $50. There will also be some live music! By the way, if you decide to bring your Taycan (or a Tesla), there are electric charging stations available.
Current COVID restrictions and the capacity of the different venues at this time will limit us to 35 attendees for this event.
Our lunch options @ Ashby Inn will allow each attendee to choose the following at the time of registration (a starter, a main course and a dessert). We will also ask for any dietary restrictions you may have. The menu is below!
THE OVERALL COST SUMMARY:
BRUNCH: $55/per person, paid at registration for the event, selection of menu items at registration as well.
VINEYARD: $22/person paid at registration for tour and tasting, additional glasses, bottles or tastings of wine are extra.
Your credit card will not be immediately charged. We will run the charges approximately ten days prior to the event.
FINAL NOTES:
Preference will be given to those who are either waitlisted for, or did not register for the Maryland Fall Drive on October 25. If there is room remaining, we will welcome the Maryland drive attendees to register as well..

Event requirements
PLEASE NOTE NEW PROCEDURES FOR 2020:
We will be departing from a location near Manassas, VA (precise rally point will be shared the week before the event). A COVID-19 waiver will need to be signed online, as well as our moving-event waiver (electronic version of the paperwork you signed at the rally point) as well as a waiver for children as needed. Information on how to do this will be emailed to you prior to the event.
All Driver briefings are now online the week prior to the event. They are MANDATORY for ALL participants, drivers and passengers alike. We will electronically provide you the latest Drive & Dine Rules, maps, and directions which you will be responsible for printing as needed. Please advise in advance if you do not have a printer and we will make a hard copy as needed for you.
Members are encouraged to bring a Porsche, but may bring an interesting, alternative, but suitable vehicle.
APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE
- This event is limited by destination capacity, so please register early if you want to join us.
- PCA Potomac Drive & Dine rules will be followed for the safety of all participants. (Discussed at the Driver's Briefing). Watch the website for revisions.
- We will notify you of your status by email. You are responsible for updating your profile in the MotorsportReg.com website to include your current contact information.
- We initially list all registrants as “confirmed” for this event. When needed, we will change your status as soon as possible. We will provide formal notification of acceptance into an event by email prior to an event. If you haven’t received any notification, check the MSR website for your status.
- IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL.
PAYMENT
- PCA Potomac accepts only credit cards for payment. You are responsible for maintaining VALID CREDIT CARD INFORMATION in your profile.
- Payment will be collected upon registration.
- Billing problems result in notification by email with limited time to resolve the issue due to the short billing period. If the issue is not resolved, we may cancel you from the event.
- Credit card and billing information uses secure connections and is protected by MotorSportReg.com. You are the only person who has access to your card number. We only see the last four digits for billing purposes.
- We will not charge your card immediately. We will run charges approximately 10 days prior to the event.
CANCELLATION
- If you must cancel, please be courteous and cancel as soon as you can in order to allow others from the waitlist to attend.
- If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email and receive an ACKNOWLEDGMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.
REFUND
- Please cancel up to one week prior to the event for a full refund.
- No refunds will be approved within one week of the event date.
- Contact the D&D Chair to discuss special circumstances. THE D&D CHAIR IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AUTHORIZE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR AN EVENT.
- If you are authorized a credit for an event, you must use it before the end of the calendar year. We will not carry credits over into the following year. Credits may only be used for other PCA Potomac events. They can't be used for other clubs who also use motorsportreg.com.
