Timeline

Columbus discovered America… you can discover California! This Columbus Day fun run is for those who want to drive their Porsches through high alpine passes! We will meet at the Denny's restaurant in Mojave (16262 Sierra Hwy) at 9:00 and depart promptly at 9:30 for the twisty mountain roads. Members from the Ridgecrest area can join us at the historical marker at Highway 14 and Highway 178 (Lake Isabella turnoff). We will then proceed to Kernville where we will have lunch at the Cheryl's Diner. After lunch we continue along the upper Kern River then make the climb from the river at about 3,800 feet to the summit of Sherman Pass at 9,200 feet, a climb of 5,400 feet! The group will then descend through Kennedy Meadows back to Highway 395 where we will head south to the Indian Wells Brewing Company.

The run includes 230 miles of driving by the time you return to Mojave. View the route on Google Maps at https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zsi5QGfAqyM4.kwWEv2LMAhnE.
