About this event
Shenandoah’s 18th Anniversary Party
At The Historic Pharsalia Plantation
On Sunday, August 18, 2013
Join the Shenandoah Region PCA for a scenic driving tour, lunch, and a tour of Pharsalia, an antebellum plantation nestled high on the slopes of de Priest Mountain in Nelson County with spectacular views of the Tye River valley, orchards, and vineyards. Rich in history, Pharsalia was originally built in 1814 by Thomas Massie and is now in the hands of the fifth-generation Massie family. Many of the plantation’s original dependencies remain including the brick kitchen, laundry, slave quarters, and ice and smoke houses. Bring your bathing suit and a towel for a swim in the pool, play croquet or “corn hole”, or just kick back and relax. Your whole family is welcome!
