BSR's Evasive Driving Course (EDC) is a two day course. This registration offers the ability to add on Surveillance Detection to upgrade to the Security Driving Course (SDC). 

For Security Driving Course (SDC) Day 1 includes:

Terrorist Operations & Surveillance Detection

  • Focuses on case studies of attacks on individuals and their vehicles.
  • Conduct a route analysis and determine how to protect ourselves from attacks.
  • How terrorists/criminals conduct surveillance in order to gather information to plan an attack
  • How to make surveillance detection a part of your lifestyle

Evasive Driving Day 1, Security Driving Day 2 includes:

  • Fundamental Vehicle Control: Vehicle language, weight and traction transfer, the importance of proper eye location, body position, hand management, straight braking, braking-in-turns, swerving to avoid objects, ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) and off-road recoveries. They will also be taught the difference between over steer and under steer and how they are controlled by skid recovery.

  • Backing "Y" & "J" Turns: Straight line backing while maneuvering around obstacles at high rates of speed in conjunction with "Y" and/or "J" Turns.

  • Driver Down: Passenger Front Seat Driving: Demonstrates the skills to acquire, maintain control and escape an attack while operating the vehicle from the passenger seat.

  • Technical/Street Line Driving:Fundamental Vehicle Control skills, vehicle dynamics, weight and traction control as well as dealing with adrenaline and stress management. Positively using “line theory” to accurately read and negotiate a road way at elevated speeds while adjusting their “line” for opposing traffic.

Evasive Driving Day 2, Security Driving Day 3 includes:

  • Close Proximity Driving: Demonstrate the ability to maneuver their vehicle in between moving objects without making physical contact while using peripheral vision in extremely congested areas.

  • Precision Intervention Technique (PIT): Students will come under attack through actual contact exercises and will learn how to protect themselves from being immobilized form an attacker alongside using their vehicle as a weapon.

  • Barricade Breaching (RAM): Ramming through a vehicle that has created a barricade blocking your path of travel.

  • Attack Recognition: The analysis of  indicators in historical cases involving attacks on individuals and their vehicles to understand mental mindset and situational awareness for quick decisions and the ability to execute an escape.

  • Barricade Confrontations: Ramming through a vehicle that has created a barricade, blocking the path of travel.

  • Car Shoot Demonstration: Witness the shooting of a vehicle with some of the worlds most common military munitions. Key compartments will be targeted and perforation issues will be discussed.

  • Sport Utility Vehicle Familiarization: The challenge of all Fundamental Vehicle Control exercises in a high-center of gravity SUV. Students will recognize the differences of driver inputs and capabilities of the vehicle.

  • Armored Vehicle Familiarization (Limit 6 students per class): The challenge of all Fundamental Vehicle Control exercises in a high-center of gravity Fully Armored Vehicle. Extra charge of $150 per student applies.

  • Improvised Explosive Device Vehicle Search: The familiarization of different types of explosive devices that may be placed on a vehicle. Students will be given the task of conducting a search for explosive devices including IEDs.

  • Attack Scenarios: The ability to correctly respond to simulated real world vehicle attacks with the use of paintball, blank ammunition and roadside IEDs. Students will participate and observe.
