SCCA Stanley NISSAN Solo Weekend

Carlson Center

About this event

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the Stanley NISSAN Solo Weekend over August 1-2nd, 2015. We are eager to share the motorsport of autocross, which SCCA calls Solo, with our fellow Alaskans. The Region has sanctioned events at Nenana Airport in the mid-2000's yet after eighteen months of effort, we are delighted that we will be coming up in the summer of 2015. This is not a drifting event, yet a driving competition through a course laid out with pylons (traffic cones) giving each entrant a minimum of four runs each day for their best scored time!

Thank you to Mike and April for their footwork (lots of site checking and measuring) these past eighteen months—we could not have gotten this far without their efforts and faithfulness to the cause. Thank you to Stanley NISSAN, our Fairbanks sponsor of the event, who is excited about the opportunity to provide some driving opportunites for those in the Fairbanks area, and helpful to the Region as well. We are delighted to be at the Carlson Center, a site that we had looked at prior to our Nenana events; the Staff have been accomodating and the contracts are signed.

We are still working out the details of lunch with our sponsor and we'll be sharing those details as the come along to us.

Schedule for Saturday and Sunday Morning

7:00AM - Solo Team Arrival
8:00-8:30 AM  — Onsite Registration Open

8:15 AM — Tech Inspection Opens & 9:15AM Safety Steward Meeting with Drivers

All competitors will need to come by the Registration Table upon arrival — both those who registered online and those who choose to register at the event either morning. We have set a cap on registration, so don't delay in Registering at www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com straight away; you can come back the week of the event to make payment, so no worries of funds tied-up all summer! Note that Registration is only open for 30-minutes. You will then head to Tech for your vehicle inspection. It is best to arrive early so you'll have time to settle your gear, prepare your car, get through Tech, and have time to walk the course!

Our Driver's Meeting will include a brief talk by the Safety Steward and the Solo Team will cover the responsibilities each of you will have while working corners during your "work group"! This event is a go—rain or shine—and as you'll be working opposite your "run group" please bring hats, layers for body warmth, sunblock/lipschitz, and foot wear for the elements.

Water will be provided by the Region.

Please arrive early to allow time to settle your gear, prepare your car, and get through Tech Inspection before the Walk-Thru. Remember, all loose items will need to be out of your car and your battery will need to be solidly secured—no bungee cords!

Don't forget your valid Driver's License!

Event requirements

REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
All competitors are encouraged to pre-register (versus "event morning" registration) at the official online registration site: www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com for the August 1-2nd SCCA Stanley NISSAN Solo Weekend of events. There is a entry-cap on the event, and preregistration helps us establish run-groups and the sponsor plan for lunch as well!!

Entry fees are $30 for SCCA Members each day! SCCA offers a Weekend Membership, for those new to the sport, of $15 which will be on top of the $30 entry fee. A Weekend Membership fee makes you an SCCA Weekend Member and will give you a $15 discount towards a full SCCA membership, a copy of SportsCar (our national magazine), and is valid for all SCCA-sanctioned events held during that weekend.
