SCCA Solo Weekend XXI - School and Solo

Alaska Raceway Park

About this event

The 2016 SCCA Alaska Autocross State Championship, sponsored by Pearson Auto, kicks off with the SCCA Arctic Alaska Region's 21st Solo Weekend — a Solo School on Saturday and our first Championship event on Sunday, May 1st. The ground school or "chalk talk" will be held track side this year versus a weekend evening in Anchorage.

The Solo Weekend XXI will be held at Alaska Raceway Park, which is located off Sullivan Road off the Old Glenn Highway. All registrations for the Solo School–held on Saturday, April 30th — must be paid-in-full before Registration closes on Thursday, April 28th, 11:59PM ADST. We do have a cap on the number of registrations, so don't delay in getting registered; first to pay is first to play!

All competitors will need to come by the Registration Tent upon arrival — both those who registered online and those who choose to register at the event Sunday morning. Note that Registration is only open for 30-minutes. You will then head to Tech for your vehicle inspection.

Our Driver's Meeting will include a brief talk by the Safety Steward and the Solo Team will cover the responsibilities each of your will have while working corners during your "work group"! This is event is a go—rain or shine—and as you'll be working opposite your "run group" please bring hats, layers for body warmth, sunblock/lipschitz, and foot wear for the elements.

Course design will be by our guest instructor Tim Weidemann. The Region will be providing water and coffee in the morning, lunch is provided for this event for Competitors and Workers. We will be taking a 58-minute lunch break. There are no restaurants nearby, so you will not be able to leave the site to travel into Palmer.

Please arrive early to allow time to settle your gear, prepare your car, and get through Tech Inspection before the Novice Walk-Thru. Remember, all loose items will need to be out of your car and your battery will need to be solidly secured—no bungee cords!

Don't forget your Driver's License!
