Gateway Double-Divisional RoadRally Weekend
Route 66 Ramble (Tour)
Scenic Byways (Tour)
Please join us!
Our Objective:
To provide you, the competitor, with an SCCA divisional RoadRally weekend that will offer two days of enjoyable sports-car rallying, roads, and scenery in the Illinois portion of the St. Louis metropolitan region. We will run our rallies in accordance with the applicable divisional requirements in the SCCA’s RoadRally Rules, 2016 Edition (available online in the rally section at scca.org), as amended by our General Instructions for the weekend.
Rallymasters Ron Ferris and Jim Heine have designed each rally with the beginning/occasional rally team in mind. Ron’s third edition of Scenic Byways on Sunday, Aug. 28, will incorporate the rural roads and country lanes of Monroe and St. Clair counties in southwestern Illinois, while Jim’s second edition of Route 66 Ramble (Saturday, Aug. 27) will feature historic portions of the Mother Road that pass through Macoupin and Madison counties in Illinois.
The Route 66 Ramble will be a Monte-Carlo-style event with passage controls (offering we believe, a good introduction to rallying for rookie/novice teams), while Scenic Byways will advance the introductory process one step by employing traditional open controls plus (perhaps) an occasional DIYC. Mostly, average speeds for the weekend will be moderate.
Headquarters:
The Doubletree by Hilton Collinsville–St. Louis. Conveniently located at the intersection of Interstate 55/70 and Illinois 157, our rally HQ is just minutes from the Gateway Arch and, via Interstate 70 and our new Stan Musial Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River, about 30 minutes from Lambert St. Louis International Airport. We believe you will enjoy our headquarters and the many activities and restaurants available nearby.
